So what are the differences from moving from a very urban east coast city to Helena Montana?|109599

This would be for college.I want to get and idea of the feel, the things there are to do,and the people of Helena.I might visit soon but I just felt like asking ::)

  • I would guess you_re going to Carroll College!
It_s nothing like a bigger city, but not in a bad sort of way. It_s definitely much more beautiful, and seemingly easier to breathe. There isn_t as much to do though if you_re not so much into nature, but luckily there is a ton of shopping in a drive of a little over an hour from here. The people seem to be more down to earth, not to mention the crime rate is lower.
Not sure if I can think of too much more, not even sure how I stumbled upon this..
Anyway, I bet you_ll like it here!
  • Where is a good place to live around Charleston SC?|184109

My husband and I both love Charleston and are looking to move to the area around the end of the year. However, we_re coming from the North East and are not very familiar with the region. We are looking for somewhere with reasonable to cheap house prices, but that is still a decent place to raise a family and close to the city. Any suggestions?

  • I would suggest looking in the James Island area, which is not too far from the City, as there is an Expressway that connects the Island and the City.
  • What is the nicest, most fun hotel pool you have been in?|144191

My family loves pools and we are looking for the best hotel pool in the country. We have been to Great Wolf Lodges. What are some of your favorites?

  • Anywhere in Wisconsin Dells. That place is so much fun.

  • Neverland Pool at the Disneyland Hotel is pretty nice, it measures 5000 square feet and has Peter Pan/Captain Hook themed stuff around it.

  • Don_t listen to WIKI; pissing in the ocean is NOT cool!

  • Warner Hot Springs,......by San Diego out in the country or desert.......it has a 50 by a 100 ft. cool pool plus a 50 by a 100 ft. hot sulfur pool..built around trees and theirs little cabins everywhere........I_m telling ya you_d love it

i_m sure you could check it out on the internet

  • The hotel pools at the walt disney world resorts are awesome.. BUT the rooms are really small.

  • Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It had a wave pool and its in a Shopping mall.......cool stuff!!!

  • I once stayed in this hotel in Waikiki.

Anyway they had this great hotel pool that they called the PACIFIC OCEAN.

And the great thing about it was they couldn_t care less if you pissed in it.

NOTE: This answer was posted BEFORE the earthquake.
  • Where can you bend the rules in las vegas?|134053

Me and a group of friends are planning a spring break trip to las vegas and we are 18 and 19 but most clubs you have to be 21 is there any clubs that might bend the rules a little?

  • Vegas is not a spring break town. You won_t even know it_s spring break here except for the jail being full of under 21_s trying to do what you want to do. This is a 21 and over town and they enforce it to the extremes. That_s why spring break is usually in Mexico now a days .. 18 and over.

  • Not going to happen without dropping some serious money. Every major club in town is inside a casino (most clubs are not owned by the casinos). If the clubs get caught with minors inside it can endanger the casinos gaming license. If the clubs get caught, the casinos will revoke their privilege to operate inside the casino. There_s NO upside on letting minors in.

If you do find the right doorman to bribe it can happen, but it will take more than you_re probably willing to spend. I_ve seen people drop $2,000/person just to get into a club on a busy night.

You should be going to Cancun, Mazatlan or Jamaica.. When we were 18-20 we always traveled abroad for spring break so we could drink without issue. That would be the better option.

  • You might want to go somewhere else. Las Vegas is a rather conservative city and neither the residents nor the police department will tolerate much of the nonsense that _spring breakers_ are famous for.

No club or casino will _break the rules_ for a bunch of silly college kids. The licenses (liqueur _ gaming) they have are too precious and costly to risk loosing them. You will probably find Las Vegas is not a friendly city for people on spring break.

  • Hmmm... I dunno for sure what specific places but Im sure you could find some places that wouldnt card you. I_m 26 and I look younger and where I live in MN I get carded probably 95% of the time. But I was in Vegas 3 weeks ago and I didnt get carded even ONCE the entire 4 days we were there. And believe me, I drank at dozens _ dozens of places.
I also overheard this kid on a shuttle. He was saying that the day before was his 21st birthday and he didnt get carded all day and had finally gotten carded for the first time the next day.
Do you guys look young? If you look close enough to 21 and dont act immature I bet you could find plenty of places that wouldnt even bat an eyelash at you.
Vegas is probably the one place you could get away with this. Becuase nobody cares at all. You can even drink in the streets.

    have fun and good luck

  • If you find the right place, you can probably bribe someone to let you in. My mom went to Vegas when she was 13, and was gambling in the Belagio. (Then again she was 5_8 and had the body and face of a 24 year old) I guess in Vegas you just have to get lucky, do anything fun. (underage)

But seriously dude, go to Mexico. The police take bribes, they dont card you and it_s ussualy just like any other american city. ( Except they speak Spanish.)

  • Vegas has gotten very strict. When I was your age, about 12 years ago, I remember getting anway with drinking and gambling in VEgas on several occasions. At some point since they have really cracked down. I am 30 and still get carded sometimes in Vegas.

It really does depend where you go. The ideal place for you would be an crowded, off-strip casino or bar. A place where the average age is older, but crowded enough for you to blend in and not-stick out as being underage.

  • yes it is possible. and im talking from personal experience. I went last year on memorial weekend. But it has to do a lot with your appearance and who you_re with. I went with a big group of girls approximately 10 girls. We are all good looking wearing short dresses. Of course I know vegas has a bunch of hott girls and the lines are always long so the bouncers can be picky. so it has to do with luck too. the id looked nothing like me. I went again in august. went to three clubs. this time the id looked a little more like me but not that much. However i did get rejected at one club. luckily they did not take the id away. the bouncer kept lookin at the id and then me he put the id in his pocket, so then i said _what_s going on,_ he told me someone else had to take a second look at it. so we went over to someone else and he looked at it then me and asked me what year i graduated high school. i got nervous and said the actually year i graduated so then he laughed and gave me back the id. I was scared but glad he gave me back the id.

besides girls, i dated a guy that was 19 and been to vegas too. the id looked like him and he got into places too. so too sum it all up, it is not IMPOSSIBLE. it can happen, but you just have to make sure:

-It is NOT a fake id
-The id looks a lot like you
-Be confident and make some eye contact with the bouncer , not too much but enough to know ur not avoiding eye contact with him because ur nervous
-Dress sexy, if ur a guy be with a bunch of HOTT girls
-Avoid clubs that have too much lighting near the entrance for example
    -Dont gamble too risky

if all fails just buy alocohol and walk down the strip

and ive never been inside margaritaville but it looks kool, people hanging out outside and inside maybe theyre not that strict

  • Nope - they absolutely will not bend the rules, particularly at the major clubs on the strip. I don_t know - maybe you can find a dive bar somewhere else in town, but none of the hot places will let you in. It_s not worth the risk of losing their license.

  • Not intentionally. Liquor and the clubs are big business here in Vegas, and nobody_s going to purposely put a lot of scratch on the line to entertain a couple of underage kids. Especially not in today_s economy.

  • Vegas is not the place for you to go, the casinos and club inVegas will not lose their licences and they dont need to risk they have enough traffic to serve their purposes you will not get served in Las Vegas

  • My question is why would you chose to go to Vegas? Go to Mexico where you CAN drink, and go to vegas when you_re old enough to really appriciate it.

  • Of course not they could be fined and or shut down. The minute you walk in the casino the overhead cameras would put security on alert to go check your IDs.
  • How do I get to Key Largo Florida?|118885

What is the closest major airport to Key Largo, Florida?

And how do I get from there to Key Largo?

Do I need to rent a car or do they have some kind of shuttle service for tourists?

I_m planning to go there in September to do some diving. And I don_t like to drive.

  • Key Largo is in the Upper Keys so the closest airport to it is Miami International Airport. Key Largo is about 1 hour 20 minutes (60 miles) away from Miami Airport.

As for transportation since you don_t like driving then you can take the Keys Shuttle down to Key Largo for a price of $60 bucks oneway.

    http://keysshuttle.com/

  • i DONT KNOW, BUT if I was you, I_d look on a map.

when you do an internet search for the town, it should have shuttles listed....

  • Greyhound has two buses a day to KL: 12;30 PM _ about 7:00 pm for about $20.00. The Miami Greyhound station is right near the airport, but you_ll need a cab to get there.
  • What are good places to visit on my road trip from NY to TX?|118195

My three friends and I are planning a road trip from Upstate New York to Austin, Texas but we_re not sure where we should stop on the way. Does anyone know any exciting sites or really cool or obscure places to visit along the way? We are all 21 and looking to see some really cool things along the way.

  • Well, you_re covering half of the country, so you_ll find plenty of cool and obscure things and dozens of them. If you want my humble advice for just one place, hit New Orleans. It_s not really out of your way, and you_ll find plenty of interesting stuff there.

  • Stop by up north in Ohio (even though it is probably out of your way) and go to Cleveland. It may sound like a desolate city, but it is actually cool. Check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or the really neat Science Center. Also, Cleveland has a lot of cool, modern restaurants and bars. Have fun! :)
