How do you gain in state residency in the state of Alabama?|145316

I am an out of state student attending college in Alabama next year and was wondering how to gain residency...I ve researched all of the requirements but there are no guarantees. Does anybody know how?...Or has anyone actually done it before?

Thanks

  • It really depends on which college you are attending as they all seem to decide residency status on their own. It looks like your biggest obstacle is establishing intent. If you are residing in Alabama for the sole purpose of going to college, then you will not be considered a resident. Some of the requirements I_ve seen include:

_A student must be a citizen of the United States, prove full-time employment within the state of Alabama, provide evidence of having filed an Alabama tax return as a resident of the state of Alabama, and prove continuous residence in the state for a purpose other than attending school._

_Residence in Alabama is residing at a single location with the intent of remaining there indefinitely, as opposed to living in Alabama solely to obtain an education._

_To become a resident of Alabama for tuition purposes, three requirements must be met:
    1.Twelve Months Continuous Physical Presence
2.More substantial connections with the state of Alabama than with any other state.
3.Intent to Establish a Domicile for purposes other than that of a student residence _

  • Unless it has changed, it was 30 days residency, application for a car license, or employment withing the state

  • ppppppppppppp
  • What is a good 1/2 way meeting point between Philadelphia and Cleveland?|155828

My friend just moved to Philly and we would like to meet up 1/2 way. It is about a nine hour drive from one city to another I believe. Any suggestions?

  • Well, actually, Pittsburgh makes sense. Scranton is straight north from Philly, about a three hour drive. Someone driving from Cleveland would have as long a drive to Scranton as to Philly. Pittsburgh is not too far from the mid-point, unless you want to meet in Altoona or some cool place like that.

  • Here look at this map and directions and find out for yourself.

I would try meeting in Somerset.

  • It_s not Scranton. Scranton isn_t even on the way from Philly to Cleveland.

Pittsburgh is a little out of the way but not by much.

I_d say Monroeville which is right off the PA Turnpike.

  • Just meet at my place in Pittsburgh

Kidding. I would say Scranton, PA
    Where The Office is based.

  • I_d say Pitt would be a pretty good halfway point.

  • Wheeling, West VA

Not much to do there but it_s where a lot of people stop for the night on this trip.
