What kind of ticket should I buy for DisneyWorld?|199373

I will be going to Disneyworld next month. We are two adults, and want to visit The Magic Kingdom one day and EPCOT the next. What is the best type of ticket to buy? Also, is this a good time of year to visit? We will be there after the New Year.

  • If the only two parks you are going to do are Magic Kingdom and Epcot, then just buy a 2 day base ticket. It will allow you admission to one park per day. You can come and go as you please. After the New Year_s crowds empty out you won_t have any problem getting through the parks in a whole day.
    2 adults for 2 day Base Tickets = $312

A Park Hopper would only be required if you want to go from one park in the morning to another park in the afternoon. I am a huge fan of the Hopper, but I don_t recommend it if you only have 2 days to see the parks and are planning on Magic Kingdom and Epcot as the parks you want to see. If you want to do Animal Kingdom (1/2 day) and/or Hollywood Studios (1/2 day) then I would suggest the Hopper and doing both of those parks on the same day.
    2 adults for 2 day Hopper Tickets = $416

  • you should be able to do both parks in two day just make sure you get there early those parks does take up the whole to do and the type of ticket you need is a two day ticket you don_t nessarly need park hoppers because you are doin a park a day

  • it_s a pretty good time to visit, it still will be a little crowded, but most people leave disney right after new years. I would get a park hopper if I were you, because MGM and Animal Kingdom can be seen in about an hour. You can spend most of your time at Epcot and MK, but you can hop over and see Fantasmic (MGM) and Festival of the Lion King (Animal Kingdom). These two shows have been said to be worth the whole admission to one park.
    hope this helped :)

  • Disney Hollywood Studios (it hasn_t been called MGM for years) can not be done in an hour. Some of the shows are an hr or more in length. It takes us 1 1/2 days to do everything in DHS.

Same goes for AK. We hav neve been able to complete everything there in 1 day.

As for getting a 2 day park hopper; you can buy a 3 day ticket for almost the same price. I would not waste my money on a hopper unless I was staying for more than 4 days.
  • Where is the best place to live and cheapest in Atlanta Georiga?|170351

I would like a one bedroom, that allows one dog, wahser/dryer hook ups and fitness center on site. Where is a good place to live? Where should I avoid?

  • Try some of the surrounding counties in the metro Atlanta area. You_ll be able to find more affordable housing there.
    Clayton County
    Henry County
    Newnan
    Gwinnett County
    Stone Mountain

    Downtown areas are high dollar.

  • Marietta, Ga. in Cobb County is a suburb of Atlanta and a nice place to live. The same could probably be said for Gwinnett Co. etc...
  • Where to have a very small business reception in downtown Cincinnati?|168261

I need to plan a small business reception (drinks) after work on November 24. I need a place that is very close to the Carew Tower/Tower Center Mall/Fountain Square- walking distance would be best. We would just need a small area with alcohol and appetizers, which separate from where regular patrons would be, as we will be discussing business. What would you recommend?

  • Get conf room at the Cincinnatian Hotel.
I do not know the current restaurants in the downtown area, but maybe a private room.

  • Via Vite on Fountain Square. Call and they will reserve an isolated portion of the restaurant for you,

  • What can I do in Cleveland for my 5th wedding anniversary?|152206

I need cheap (FREE) ideas IN cleveland that do not involve walking a whole lot (my husband is disabled) and like I said, FREE... I have thought about a Malley_s tour, but that involves walking... what else can I do to make this 5th year special? I have NO money and need something that doesn_t take all day, as we can_t leave the house alone a long time (bad neighborhood). The big day is Saturday! HELP!

  • You could drive through the Metroparks -
    http://www.clemetparks.com/
They are beautiful. There_s an entrance to the Ohio _ Erie Canal Reservation near Grant Ave. and E. 49th. Turn onto Whittlesey Way off of E. 49th.

    Maybe take a picnic lunch.

    Another idea: go to
    http://www.clevescene.com/
and put in the date. There are a ton of concerts listed for the Cleveland area. Depending on what kind of music you_re into, you might be able to find a free concert. I saw a free one listed at Beachland, 15711 Waterloo Rd., Cleveland. It_s a CD Release party for some Rock band that I haven_t heard of but hey it_s free. Rhythm City Groove is at Fat Fish Blue on Sat. It_s at 21 Prospect Ave. It doesn_t look like they have a cover charge but they might want people to buy (a) drink(s) to listen to the music.

    I hope this helps.

Happy Anniversary! Our 8th Anniversary is in two weeks.

  • We were there on a weekend getaway about 3 weeks ago. Here_s what we did ... and we didn_t spend much money. We went to the West Side Market, it involves walking but is interesting.

We also ate at the Great Lakes Brewery, food was excellent but the beer was sub-par. You are looking at $30 for lunch. The we took a tour of the brewery, which was (FREE) and very informative.

The Indians were in town that weekend so we went to a game which was a lot of fun. Those ideas should get you started.

  • How about checking out a show at Playhouse Square in the Theater district? Might cost some money, but it can_t be much.

Or how about the Cleveland Orchestra? You can get tickets for about 40 bucks. That wouldn_t involve walking!

West Side Market is super cool, and could be very cheap... but would involve walking.

How about the Botanical Gardens? It only costs something like 7 bucks to get in there. Plus, there are a bunch of cool museums real close to the garden.

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

  • Go to the Grog Shop!

  • One idea might be a Lolly the Trolley tour. It takes you on a 20-mile journey around Cleveland, seeing all of the major sights, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Science Center, West Side Market, Playhouse Square, etc.

A 2-hour trolley ride for adults (age 18+) is $17 dollars. A 1-hour tour is $11. For seniors (age 60+) the tour is $16 for 2-hours, and $10 for 1-hour. The website I listed below will give you more information.

Another idea that is cheap and easy, is to take a picnic down to Huntington Beach or Edgewater Park. You can set and use their grills. I think you could do this with very little walking.

Another thing you could do on Saturday is check out the Cleveland Museum of Art. There is an exhibition, Arms _ Armor from Imperial Austria, which actually closes on June 1. They musuem has wheelchairs available for those with disabilities, and going through the exhibition would only take an hour, or two tops. Then you could go to Little Italy, to Mama Santa_s or Presti_s and get lunch.

One last thing would be a lunch cruise on the Nautica Queen. From 11am-1pm, it would cost $28 per person (with all the taxes). This includes the cruise, an unlimited buffet meal, coffee, iced tea and musical entertainment.

Personally, I think this one would be the most fun!

And lastly, congrats on your anniversary!! Even if you don_t do any of these things, I am sure you will find something fun and special to do!
  • How much does a taxi cost from Disney resort to Universal?|148943

We have booked a holiday to All Star Music Resort Disney the last two weeks of August 2010. We are trying to decide whether we really need to hire a car. We will be going to Universal Studios, Universal Adventure, Seaworld and Wet n Wild, as well as various Disney parks. Can someone tell me how much we are likely to pay for taxis to the Universal Parks.

  • Disney World is approximately 10-12 miles from Universal Studios. So I_m going to say a taxi would cost between $20-$25 (depending on rates).
Have fun and enjoy your vacation. I lived in Orlando for about three years and I absolutely fell in love with the city and it_s atmosphere. Please don_t limit yourself just to the amusement parks. If you have the time to explore the city...please do.
    Enjoy!

  • My husband and I are doing the same thing during the last week of August. We have found out that if you go to Downtown Disney and exit the park, cross the street and take the Lynx bus to Seaworld and Universal. It only costs $2 per person. To get to Universal, there is one transfer. Ask for a transfer ticket and you will not need to pay again when you switch buses. Check out the website for the local bus lines:
    www.golynx.com
A taxi will cost $30 one way...we are taking the bus instead!

  • Disney World is about 10 miles from Universal, so about $20, although some companies may charge more or less depending on the fares.

  • Call 407-699-9999. I lived in Orlando for years and it is the only taxi service that I use. Some places even offer shuttles.

  • I would venture to say between $30 _ $40 each way. I would look into renting a car for the day/
