How does someone go about getting a job at Yosemite Park?|155208

I_m looking to move to California and wanted to work at Yosemite Park. I went hiking there a few years back and always thought it would be a great place to work. Hey, even if it_s to work at the pizza place.

Now my questions are: What are the qualifications? Is it difficult to get a job there? Does anyone have first hand knowledge about working there?

If anyone could help me out with my curiosity in this, that would be much appreciated!

  • You do realize the park is closed in the winter?
You might want to consider the South Lake Tahoe area. It_s open year round and the park is just a couple of hours drive.

  • That is a National Park and so jobs are listed (when available) at the National Park Service web site. The concessions are under contract to the Park Service, so you would need to find their home office for applications. You_d probably need to talk to the manager at the concession stand to find out where to apply.
  • Which city is best to live in Chicago or san fransisco, San diego is an option as well?|157110

Which city has the highest living expenses and which has the lowest? Which city is the most artisticly flourishing?

  • San Diego has a lot of open areas........The utilities aren_t as expensive as in San Francisco or Chicago....The weather is more temperament in San Diego. Rarely do you need to wear long sleeves in San Diego. In the evenings you can wear a windbreaker.........very few times do you wear a leather coat. If it is clear blue skies with puffy clouds and no smog........then San Diego would be the choice.

As in all three places there are many nationalities from all over the world. Each has its flourishing in its own artistic ways.

Historically Chicago and San Francisco have the more iinteresting buildings.

Here are some good sites for housing information:

    www.realtor.com

    www.zillow.com

www.signonsandiego.com one of the local papers

  • I don_t know anything about San Francisco, but I_ve lived in San Diego for my entire life and I frequently travel to Chicago. San Diego has beautiful weather. Its usually sunny, but the weather is very unexpected. Just yesterday it rained and its June. In Chicago, the winters are very cold. Sometimes below zero. The summers are nice too, but sometimes it gets too humid in my opinion. I have to say that the cuisine and epicurean taste in Chicago is a lot better than San Diego, but I prefer the traffic in San Diego over Chicago anyday. Also if you there are other forms of transportation such as the trains, buses, or taxi. In San Diego, there are only the buses, the coaster, and the trolley. Hope that helped.

  • San Francisco is the most expensive city, followed by San Diego, then Chicago. Chicago has the Art Institute, and a very artistic community. It is a city that has all you would need, and more. Only drawback is weather. It is truly the windy city, and icy, freezing as well. San Diego has the best weather, but it_s people are typical Southern Cal. - rude, self absorbed, entitled, and narcisstic - sorry, but all of Southern Cal. is like that! Northern Cal. has the best people, they_re more like Midwesterners in attitude and values. Chicago_s people are great as well.

I prefer San Francisco, for it_s beauty, things to do, and openness of people. If you go there, just bring lots of money because it costs!

  • as for highest living i already KN0W without having to think its gonna be ANYWHERE iN CALi period.

lowest...i really cant say but prolly chicago and chicago is flourishing alot right now with the olympics coming here in acouple years and all...chicago has alot going on!

i dont know much of anything about san fran besides all the up_down hills and the golden gate bridge-- i couldnt live there, but heres something to ponder--
..........im trying to move FR0M Chicago T0 most likely San Diego real soonnnn....chicago cannot be compared to san diego! like everrr! cali has much more to do in my opinion ESPECiALLY with the beaches and celebs and stuff Oh! and might i add the wonderful weather =]]

  • San Diego is really nice.
  • What part of Florida is best to visit during the summer?|125306

What part of Florida would be best to visit during the summer.
Must have a beach, be kid friendly, and not be in a dangerous area/region. Thanks=]

  • .....any where along the Emeral Coast of Northwest Florida from Panama City to Pensacola.

  • I would recommend that you either go to Miami, Key West or Clearwater. Both Key West and Clearwater have very nice beaches are beautiful places to visit. I would not recommend going to Orlando as it can be very busy as many people go for a holiday and the parks are extremely busy. If you go to Orlando and go to the theme parks, you are wasting your money as you will constantly be hot and you ill have to wait in hours of queses to go on rides while you are scorching hot. Miami isn_t that kid friendly but can have some nice beaches. Personally I would go to Key West for a nice relaxing holiday!

  • well pensacola beach has white beaches unlike most beaches on the atlantic. there are more than 50 beaches and there is one for every person. to avoid the crowd i recommend chicken bone beach. (name doesn_t have to do with anything) they have like a 10 mile road that you can ride your bike on or walk with no cars on it and it is paved. however, the keys are a good place. but not key west, i have heard there are a lot of homosexual activity there.

  • The whole state is too hot and humid in Summer...it_s the worst state to visit. The best of the worst would probably be Key West because of the prevailing winds, keeping the temperature and humidity level low.

Key West is not as gay as Floridians contend. Another key to checkout is Sugarloaf Key:

  • Siesta Key. I love that place.

  • Orlando and surrounding area.

Fort Walton Beach is a very friendly community with beach front!

  • Key West.
  • How long does it take mail to get from auburn California to San Diego Ca?|196169

I have friends that live in San Diego Ca and I am curious to find out: how many days it would take them to get a letter I send from auburn Ca...I tried google but no answer was found. Thanks for the help.

  • 2-4 days. A lot depends on when you mailed it and where you mailed it from.

For example if you mailed it on Saturday afternoon after the post office already picked up at that location, then they won_t get it going until Monday. Under those conditions it could be 5 days.
  • How do I figure how much money in gas it would cost and how much gas it would take to go on a trip?|107161

I am going to do a wyoming trip and I can_t remember how to figure what it would cost in gas for the trip. And how much gas it would take.

  • 1.Total the anticipated round trip mileage
2.Divide the total mileage by the miles per gallon your vehicle averages.
    3. Gas cost per gallon-here will just use $3.00 per gallon

Say 1 above is 1500 miles
And 2 above is 15 miles per gallon
Then divide 1500 by 15. =100 gallon of gas you will use (in this example)
Using $3.00 a gallon, and you use 100 gallon-then your paying $300.00 for gas on your trip.

  • Depending on what car you drive.
Most cars are averaging about 20 cents per km. How to calculate that?
Take your full tank price divided by the maximum km your car can travel.
    i.e. = $100/500km = $0.20/km
So if your trip is going to be like 600km away, if would probably cost you around $120.
  • Any unguided tours to go horse back riding on the beach in California?|190823

I went to place when I was younger and they let you RUN the horses on the beach, it was all unguided they just tell you to follow the path, I_m looking for somewhere similar to that. I live in southern califronia.

  • I don_t know of one beach in southern California that allows horses on them. Most beaches are state parks, and I know that its not allowed. Then the city beaches are even more srict. Maybe theres a private beach I don_t know about that allows it. Not in Orange County. Good Luck!
  • What Hotel should we stay at for a great relaxing pool resort experience in Phoenix, AZ?|174035

If one had a choice to stay at the The Westin Kierland Resort _ Spa in Scottsdale or the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort _ Spa, Phoenix, which would you chose.

Our main focus is on nice restaurants in and around the hotel, _ laying buy a nice pool/pools during the day, lazy river a plus. To my knowledge they are both magnificent, but which one stand out above the other.

Thanks and please only answers that points to one or the other with a reason behind your choice.

  • I would vote the J.W. Marriott.
It is not really in the _city_ area. Its more north and the atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL! It_s quiet and serene and the pool is nice. Its not far from Desert Ridge either, which has great restaraunts and shopping.

As for the Westin Keirland. They have a NICE spa, but I wouldn_t chose it, because its right in the business of Scottsdale. A plus, it is by Kierland, which has upscale shopping and very nice restaraunts. (pricey)

Oh and just fyi... I got my engagement pics taken at the J.W. Marriot. They turned out gorgeous.

If you are interested. Of all hotels, I_d probably choose the Hyatt Regency off Scottsdale Road and I think its...

  • The Pointe is actually not called that anymore it is called like the Grand or something similar. I_ve never stayed there, but my friend goes up there from Tucson once a year. I guess they have like a water park too.

  • Doubletree or Camelback Resort and Spa

  • The Pointe Hilton 2 resorts are wonderful.

    http://www.pointehilton.com/

  • Pointe Tapatio!!!!!!!

  • Westin Kierland Resort _ Spa all the way!

  • the pointe hilton 2! :)
