What are the coolest things to do in Seattle?|187023

I_m going on a trip there in a few weeks and will only be there for three days. I want to know what are the best things to see and do, whether they_re really touristy or not. Also any helpful tips would be great!

  • space noodle
    the waterfront
    the duck across lake washington
    the arboretum
    the e.m.p.
    the museum of flight
    monorail
    pike st. market
if you have a car and the time you can try the falls at snoqualmie or deception pass.
    crossing lake washington at 5:30

if you park at the seattle center you can get the space noodle hit the e.m.p. take the monorail to its end and then walk to the pike st. market. very touristy esp. on a weekend. all the rest of the places listed not so touristy

  • Go into the Space needle! It_s really cool to be up in the resteraunt because (I think) it spins while you_re up there and it_s just a really cool building.

  • i hear the space needle is pretty cool!

  • go to Starbucks...wear Birkenstocks.....be Green.......watch Frasier.
  • Does anyone have any suggestions on a Hotel to stay at when visiting Hershey Park during the Christmas season?|136404

We are planning a family trip during the christmas season and wasn_t sure if Hershey Lodge was worth the expense? Thanks

  • Try TripAdvisor.com for comments from past guests about hotels. For a family, you might want to look into an apt/condo. There_s a list at HomeAway.com, although I don_t know for a fact that they have listings for Hershey.
  • What is the most economical way of transport for sight seeing in New York?|146916

    Hi,

We are a couple of friends visiting NY for a week and were seeking the most convenient and economical way of visiting the popular sights. Both of us are University students and should also be eligible for student discounts if offered anywhere.
We will appraciate any ideas and recommention.

    Thanks for you help.

  • The subways and buses will be the most economical way to get around the city and both are quite easy and safe to use. The Transit Authority has a guide with all the routes, or you can find these in many NYC guidebooks. A bit of study before your visit will get you familiarized with the system, which is very logical, for the most part.

Quite often, if you go to the website of an attraction you will find information on what bus/train to take to get there.

To save some money, you may want to check out CityPass, which is a one-price ticket that includes many NYC attractions. You would have to do a bit of research to see whether this would actually save you money or not.

    Have a great trip!

  • The best and economical way to do sight seeing in New York City is by public transit and on foot.

In regards to public transit, the fare on the subway is $2.25 a person, per ride. However, since you_re all going to be in town for a week, may I recommend purchase a 7-day Unlimited Ride MetroCard for $27 a person. The 7-day Unlimited Ride MetroCard will coming pertty handy when making multiple trip on the subway and local bus system in the City.

Now, the reason the card is cost $27 a person is because the card can not be shared. I_ll say it again, _The Card Can Not Be Shared_. Therefore, each of you have to purchase an individual card.

Also, many of the main attractions offer discount on ticket when you use you MetroCard. One of them is the Titanic exhitbition in Times Square. I_ve included a link to the information blow.

In regards to walking, most of the attraction in New York City are with walking distance to each other. For example, Times Square and Rockefeller Center are with a 10 to 15 minutes walking distance from each other (depending on your walking pace). So, if you rather not to take the subway, you can just walk from one place to the other.

Please note that you might want to pack some comfortable pair of shoe if you_re going to be doing a lot of walking in the Big Apple.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck

  • Try the sightseeing bus tours . Try this bus

  • Where is the most beautiful place to go camping in the eastern united states?|111763

I will be beginning a 2 month road trip next week. I plan on hitting South and North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Any ideas for websites to view good places to camp? Actually I am putting all my stuff into storage so if I find a real nice place to live, I can do that too!

  • Bryson City, NC was voted by Outdoor Magazine as one of the top 100 best places to live for outdoor enthusiasts. Sounds like you_d love it. It has the Deep Creek Recreation Area with hiking trails that join the Appalachian Trail and also general camping. If your into more of the _cabin camping_ type of camping, I recommend
    http://www.annasdeepcreekcabins.com/
because they are right next the the Deep Creek Rec Area (1/2 mile away). Seriously, I_ve been to Bryson City many times because I love the outdoors, and there is so much for me to do!

  • Try The Finger Lakes area.

  • Anywhere in the Adirondack Mountains! I live in NYS and may be biased but I never get tired of these beatiful mountains. Check out these websites below for more information.

  • that mountain area between Knoxville TN through Asheville (I-40) and south towards Spartenburg SC (I-26) is about the most beautiful I have ever seen!

  • Even though you are not travelling to that area, you should go to Georgia. There are some beautiful camp grounds there with lake views, and wildlife sightings, and all sorts of stuff. There are some beautiful houses there too so you can live close to nature. The trails give you a great way to start your day!!! (I sound like some sort of ad but don_t pay attention to me...)
  • How is the weather, people, and culture of Georgia and South Carolina?|112139

Is the cost of living high in GA/SC? Is there alot of rascism against minorities? How are the people? Recommendations where to buy a house? Thanks.

  • I live in the Atlanta area. The weather in summer is hot (usually in the 90_s this time of year) and extremely humid. winters are mild with usually only 1 winter storm per year. The cost of living is lower than the northeast and west coast, but this area is growing rapidly. The people are nice and outside of downtown atlanta, southern hospitality is still common. racism is not a big problem like it used to be but there are still a small group of people who are prejudiced. If your considering the atlanta area, I recommend the northwestern suburbs in marietta, kennesaw, and acworth. they have more of a small town atmosphere but are still convenient to downtown and the airport.

  • In South Carolina, the weather is extremely hot and humid, but very nice during the Fall and Spring. People are great and very friendly. Cost of living is very low compared to northern states. As far as where to live I would explore Greenville or maybe look at property on Lake Greenwood or Lake Santee.
