How do I finda a hotel in orlando with a day rate?|199974

My family and I are going to orlando for vacation... I have 3 little kids and our plane lands at 5 am... I have quite a bit of time to kill before I check into my hotel. I want to know if I can find a hotel near the airport that I can pay a day rate on and check in at about 6 am and stay for a few hours to have the kiddies catch up on some sleep. Any ideas? Or alternatives?

  • Do not take your children to a hotel in Orlando that is a day-rate hotel. They are used for activity that you would not want your children to be exposed to. Call your hotel and tell them the problem, I_m sure you will not be first to have this situation .

  • if it were me, i_d book an extra night at your hotel and make arrangements for a really late check in. most _good_ hotels will work with you. i can_t see you taking your family to a hotel that rents by the hour/ a day rate. they are used for non family reasons (ie your next door neighbor probably will be named _Candy_......

Also if I got some business cards and some water do you think people on the strip might listen to me in hopes of getting some investors for a business startup?

  • I_d listen to you talk for a couple of minutes. You would need to make your speel really catchy from the start though. It_s hard to get people to stand and talk outside in 100+ heat!

  • No. They probably steal your idea and take the water and drink it and throw away your b/cards.

You need to see a Credit Union or a bank for the loan.

  • not for free they will not
  • How do I navigate New York Transit?|134938

I_m planning a vacation to Manhattan and it looks like I_m staying at the Newark Airport. Is there public transportation to get me from the airport to Manhattan?
How much do taxi_s cost? Help, please!

  • I believe NJ Transit runs buses from Newark Airport to the Port Authority Terminal in NYC.

  • You can take a bus from Newark/Liberty that will take you into Port Authority, or a train into Penn Station. I think a taxi costs about $40 and you have to pay tolls which are about $8. Have a good vacation, but if I were you I try and get somewhere in Manhattan

  • Here is a map of the NJ Transit rail system:

    http://www.njtransit.com/images/railmap0

From Newark/Elizabeth, you can get on the train and head right into Penn Station in Manhattan. From there, get on the subway to anywhere. It_s just about 30 minutes from the airport to Manhattan.

Catch the train at either the Elizabeth or North Elizabeth station, where it_s $5 to NY. From Newark Airport, it_s $14.

  • You should stay in Manhattan if possible.

I suggest you rent a car if you have to stay in Newark.

But you can take public transportation to the PATH train (NJ Transit) that takes you into Manhattan. It_s about a 30 or 40 minute ride.

    Enjoy your vacation!

  • Take New Jersey Trainsit_s Airtrain into Penn Station, New York. Penn Station is in midtown Manhattan and although you can take taxis from there, there are at least 5 different subway lines you can access as well, and there are bus stops conveniently nearby. Taxis are convenient, but can get really expensive especially during busy traffic when you may be stuck caught in traffic (and the meter will be running.) The lowest fare would be around 7 bucks if you_re just going about a mile or mile and half--then you have to add a tip. To go from downtown to uptown (for example from the South Street Seaport to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or Lincoln Center) you may already be shelling out 18 to 20 bucks.

With the subway and bus, you can buy a Metrocard for unlimited rides per day, week or month. In general, each ride is $2.00 regardless of distance.

    Enjoy your stay!
  • Where are the best places to visit in Minnesota?|135336

I_m wanting to do some traveling, and I_d like to find out what residents of Minnesota like to do. I haven_t decided where exactly I_d like to go, just somewhere in Minnesota, preferably near a big town but not necessarily right in one. I_d like to know of any great restaurants (preferably non-franchise) and any great spots to visit. I don_t mind if they_re tourist attractions or just locally known hidden spots. Anything you can provide will be great! Thanks!

  • The north shore of Lake Superior has some rugged coastlines and beautiful vistas. A hike into the interior along the north shore gets you to Gooseberry Falls, one of the most beautiful scenic areas of the state.

Minnesota is famous for its lakes. You can visit several of them right in the heart of Minneapolis and St. Paul, with beautiful walkways and bikeways. I_m not as current on best restaurants but I believe there are several in the Nicollet Mall downtown pedestrian district of Minneapolis.

Garrison Keillor_s nationwide radio program, a Prairie Home Companion, is broadcast live each Saturday night from the Fitzgerald Theatre in downtown St. Paul. You can probably order tickets in advance. It can be a great _ unique Minnesota experience.

  • A lot of Minnesotan_s like to fish and hunt. They fish in the summer, and in the winter on the ice. They like to ride thier bikes, there are lots of great state trails, one is SE Minnesota, by Laneboro, that is a great one. A lot like to Ski and ice skate in the winter. They like to shop. Many like going to theater. In the winter they like to ride snowmobiles, they have a lot of designated trails thoughout the state. Or there are tons of great state parks. Duluth area is nice too, if you want to go see the north shore!

  • If you_re looking for a bunch of great restaurants (both franchised and not) you should check out Grand Ave. in St. Paul. You_ll find (almost) anything your palate desires.

  • It really depends on the type of activities you want to do. Minneapolis/ Bloomington has the Mall of America and IKEA for shopping. There are many museums/historic sites in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul areas. There are plenty of lakes and parks for outside activites all over Minnesota. Southeast Minnesota has the Mississippi River and beautiful bluff country. Some towns to visit there would be Winona, Wabasha, Kellogg, or Lanesboro.
