What all can a 17 year old do in Chicago for her birthday?|166085

So.
My friend is turning seventeen and is going to Chicago for her birthday.
However, she doesn_t know what to do or where to stay.
She only knows that she thinks Chicago is really pretty and its a big city.
So can anyone give me any fun tips and places to go- especially on your birthday?
Nothing boring or for old people. Thanks!

  • Three places come to mind downtown:
    - Dick_s Last resort which is in Marina City along the north side of the Chicago River.
    - Gino_s East in the old Planet Hollywood at Ontario and Wells. I_ve not been here since they moved from their infamous location east of Michigan but they probably still allow graffitti on the walls.
    - Ed Debevic_s right across the street from Gino_s, a great 50_s diner where the wait staff occasionally dances on the tables and treats you rudely in a fun way. Dick_s does that too.

If you don_t want to venture into the city Gino_s has a location in Wheaton and Debevic_s has a location in Lombard in Yorktown Mall.

All three are great for groups particularly young people.

A fourth and more famous option yet is the Hard Rock Cafe also on Ontario, maybe a little more for adults, especially us old timers who still remember that Chicago is a band (I think) as well as a city.

  • Unless she is traveling with someone who is 21 or older she won_t find a hotel that will let her check in _ if you can afford it downtown is really the best place to stay. There is a free shuttle that will take you all around the downtown area. Navy pier is fun _ has lots to do. There are also a lot of Shows downtown if you like the theater. You could check out a bunch of the cool restaurants downtown. Gino_s pizza is always fun. There Millenium park _ also check with the park district or the city they have all sorts of music and stuff going on.

  • I would think going to one of the shows in town. The Blue Man Group is a good time. If money is an issue go see Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. You_ll need a car for that one and an ability to stay up late. Most tourists go up in the Sears Tower or the Hancock. The Hancock is closer to other fun things. The Sears Tower is taller.

What are some companies in Las Vegas that are looking for people now? It doesn_t matter what industry I just need help so I can apply for some jobs. I have 1 year of work experience and have a bachelor of arts in Finance. (no work experience in it though)

  • You can always work security at the clubs. They are always looking for people, especially if you can provide good customer service.
