How can I move to Las Vegas and become a bartender at a nightclub ?|184426

My name is Mike. I am in my thirties and I just got layed off from my banking job. I am enrolling in bartending school to become a bartender and then my dream is to move to Las Vegas and become a bartender at a nightclub. Can someone out there tell me what that will take ? How can I accomplish that goal with no experience ?

  • To be qualified for most casinos, you have to have some amount of experience in the hospitality industry. This means high-volume hospitality environments, not a mom-and-pop restaurant that dishes out a few drinks here and there. We_re talking thousands of customers per shift. If not, your best bet is to take a class in bartending or dealing when you get here. Don_t bother taking a bartending class before you head out as Las Vegas bartending requires a unique set of skills for serving the clientele. Some of the places I found while scouring the streets are:

    * ABC Bartending
    * PCI Dealers School
    * Las Vegas School of Dealing
    * Dealers Training Center

    These schools say that they will teach you _Las Vegas Style Bartending_ in a week or two and they will provide a qualification class to help you obtain your Alcohol Awareness Card. Of course, prepare yourself to have to put out the money up front and find a place to stay while going to class and job hunting. However, most of the schools in the area provide placement counseling to help you find a job when you graduate.

  • Get experience.

    Start working at a bar while you_re going to school. Then, once you get out of school, and have worked the bar scene for a few months, start calling around to the clubs in Vegas. Or, just move out there after you finish your schooling, get a job in a small bar and work your way up.

  • You can cross your fingers and hold your breath. The clubs out there need people that are used to working in a fast paced atmosphere
  • What detroit district has the highest crime rate?|167982

    I_m thinking about being a police officer in detroit and I want to work with the worst because im a tough girl and please serious answers.

  • Don_t believe the hype about male members not wanting to work with females. Not true. If you_re a worker and you_re not afraid and they know they can depend on you to get home at the end of the shift, that_s all that matters.

    As far as working with the worst, if you really haven_t been around _the hood_ then maybe you should get your feet wet in a calm precinct area like # 12. If you_re brave and you want to work and learn to be the REAL po-lice, go to either the 9th precinct on the eastside or on the westside the 2nd/10th precinct.

    As for the haters that say the eastside is the worse, you wouldn_t know because you_re afraid to hang with us. There are some areas on the westside that are worse than areas on the east (Dexter/Monterey/Linwood).

    But most importantly, remember to treat people with respect. No matter how effed up they are. Good luck to you.

  • all of detroit is the same. expect the worst.

  • The South side has the most gangs.

  • I would think you are going to run into similar things throughout Detroit. Just stay away from special events cop or a mounted police officer.

  • you go where they stick you in the beginning

    honestly?
    no male cop wants a female partner
    no matter how tough you are? you are not as strong as a man

  • Brightmoor and Delray.

  • You have no need to worry about a where the worst neighborhoods are. If you sign up with detroit police and get the job, you can be sure to start with the worst shifts in the worst parts of the city.

  • Like the one person said before, Brightmoor will be very challenging. But anywhere on the eastside, past Van Dyke, will really be challenging. Good luck!

  • Serious answers? Here they are:
    I don_t think you_re being serious asking here of all places.
    You will have to know proper grammar.

    Why would you want to work for such a joke of an operation? If you really are a tough girl, put your mind to work in better things, or make that operation better. It_s getting a bit out of hand.

  • Somewhere on the east side

  • The east side of Detroit has the highest crime ratings.
  • What night shows can one see at seaworld orlando in February?|180501

    Im going to be going to Orlando in February and am going to go to sea world. I was just wondering what night shows the park performs around that time if any? And do they still do the dine with Shamu experience?

  • February is a slow time at SeaWorld and the park will close relatively early.

    The Makahiki Luau is an evening show that runs year-round and it doesn_t require park admission. Here_s a review:

    The only other choice would be the last Shamu show of the day, which might be during twilight during February.

    Yes, they do Dine With Shamu. Here_s a review:

    This is the link to where they post their shows, but it appears that February is not posted yet. Check back later to find out exactly what will be going on the days you are there.

    And they do still have dine with Shamu, but they don_t have it posted yet for February, either - scroll down a little on this page, and you can see where you can buy tickets.
