Can my grandparents take my children to US for a vacation without the parents? Any document needed?|187606

My parents-in-law have children living in the Baltimore whom they visit frequently. Since it is summer vacation here in the Philippines, they wanted to visit with my children this time. I worry about the preparations and cost of tickets if they will not be allowed to get into the US with my children. My children are aged 11 and 8 years old.

  • You should get a Power of Attorney authorizing your parents to travel to and from the United States with your children. You should also get a Special Medical Power of Attorney giving your parents permission to authorize treatment in case of emergency or sickness while they are in the States.
  • When did the construction on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge start?|110427

I know it opened 1969, but when did people start building? An exact date would be best, but just saying the year is fine too. Please only answer if you are sure, because this is for a project and I need an exact answer. Also, any information about the bridge would be appreciated.(e.g. fun facts, materials used to build it, etc.) I already know about the suicide thing, so if you know anything else, please write it. Thanks!

Of course, planning probably started earlier.
  • What are good spots to visit in San Francisco?|133439

I_ve like in the SF bay area my whole life yet I_ve only bin to San Francisco like 5 times in my life. I really want to go and just hang out over there but i have no idea were to start. Im more interested in actives rather then shopping or museums. Please help me out.

  • Just exploring the city is an adventure. Here is a list of my
    Must Do San Francisco

    1. Ride a Cable Car, the only moving historical landmark in the world. Stop off at the Cable Car Barn at Washington and Mason to get a full understanding of this unique form of transportation. Riding the Powell Hyde line will allow you to see Lombard Street the famous crooked street.

    2. Visit Alcatraz, this former prison is the most popular destination in San Francisco. The bay cruise to and from the island will give you the opportunity to see the skyline from the water a unique perspective. During the height of tourist season it is wise to purchase tickets before you arrive as tours are often sold out days to a week in advance.

    3. Visit Coit Tower, Beautiful murals inside, impressive bay view from the tower or Pioneer Park at the base. Then descend Telegraph hill via the Filbert Steps on the East side of the park for a unique view of how folks on Telegraph Hill live, more beautiful bay views and the chance to hear and see the famous Parrots of Telegraph Hill.

    4. Golden Gate Bridge, not just a feat of engineering, this 1.7 mile span offers incredible views of The City, the bay and the Pacific ocean. Be sure to visit Ft. Point under the bridge for a different view of this San Francisco Icon.

    5. Explore Golden Gate Park, this large urban park can consume a whole day. The New Academy Science, Japanese Tea Garden, Deyoung Museum [American Art], the Arboretum, Bison Paddock, and Paddle boats are all worth a look and watch the sun go down over the Pacific over a drink or dinner at the Beach Chalet.

    6. Chinatown, the most densely populated portion of San Francisco offers the largest Chinese center for shopping, food and unique architecture found outside of Asia. The best place to buy souvenirs to take home to friends and family.

    7. North Beach, traditionally the Italian section of the city which has no beach but abounds in quaint shops, great restaurants and The Citys best coffee options.

    8. Civic Center, the largest collection of Beaux Arts buildings in the US. Home to San Francisco City Hall, with a dome larger than the US Capital, the Asian Art Museum and the Modern San Francisco Library with its San Francisco History Room housing an eclectic collection of city artifacts and photographs.

    9. Buena Vista Gardens, this urban park is home to; the Museum of Modern Art the Museum of The African Diaspora, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Cartoon Art Museum and the Metreon will keep you entertained for hours.

    10. Twin Peaks, see The City and the bay spread out at your feet. Especially captivating at night when the lights seem to go on for ever.
  • What are some things to do in and around Kenosha WI?|131349

We are planning a family trip w/ my 4 yr old next month and I was wondering what family attractions are in the area.

  • You_ll need things that will be entertaining for a 4 year old. Try the beach on Simmons Island right on Lake Michigan. South from there is Wolfenbutel park. It_s nice for walking along the lakefront and has a children_s playground and a water fountain that kids can play in. In the same area is Harbor Park where the Kenosha Museum is. The Wholly Mammoth is a favorite of kids and they have an interactive kids area in the museum as well (and it_s all free). You can catch a ride on the Kenosha trolley for a quarter per person.

While the Ren-faire is awesome, a 4 year old would probably not last long there. Wait a couple more years for that. By the Interstate is the mini-golf park with bumper boats, go carts and a large arcade area.

Of course you wouldn_t want to miss taking the youngster to the Jelly Belly warehouse in Pleasant Prairie. They have a free train ride around the inside of the building that kids enjoy.

  • The Jelly Belly factory is about 10 mins away in Kenosha and my son loved it! He_s 6.

  • Bristol Renaissance Faire
    Address: 12550 120th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142
    Phone: (847) 395-7773
It is only open on weekends.

  • We used to go up to Kenosha a lot for mini-golf at Congo River. It_s still there, but I don_t know if a 4 year old would appreciate mini-golf.

Now we go to the Brat Stop down the street.

  • Apple Holler off I-94.. All the apple good times you could ask for, Holler! Serious, look it up

  • I know there_s a lake and picnic tables and swings there.
