How much money should I take to Vegas?|195171

Staying at the Bellagio and I have no idea how much money I will need to take with me. I_m not really much of a gambler and I looked at the prices for _O_ and nearly fainted. I am going with four other people (siblings/cousins) and I want to treat them to something nice - but not so extravagant that I_ll put myself in the poor house. Any recommendations?

  • Take as much as you_re comfortable with, but you_ll proabably need at least a few hundred. If you need to take money out of a machine, do so downtown rather than on the Strip (e.g. $30 withdrawal fee at the Mirage).

  • bring your debit card, ATM card - don_t take hard cash, withdraw money from the atm as you need them. they are all over the place.

  • No more than 300-400 dollars and just be smart because Vegas is made off of losers not winners.

  • I suggest one days pay for every day you stay there.

  • Take as much money as you feel comfortable never seeing again

  • some of the adult/Risque shows offer 2 for 1 coupons, shows in Ballys (jubilee) rio and harrahs (forget the names) the dancers walk around in the day passing out the coupons.. Also, try taking a taxi they have tons of coupons and passes to clubs and shows just give them a good tip

    have fun
  • What are the best places to visit in California?|179125

I live in Portland Or and I_m gonna take a road trip with my b/f and a couple friends. I think we_re definitely gonna go to SF, LA, and possibly San Diego. What are some fun, interesting places to stop by in these cities or on the way? Also do you think we should reserve hotel rooms in advance or try to find open ones when we get there?

  • Go everywhere you can. Stop in Santa Cruz see the Boardwalk. Fun rides and beach atmosphere. Also, use Motel 6 where possible. Pretty cheap but clean. A week isn_t quite enough time to go and see what is in CA. Figure spliting the state in half. I would take in either N CA (SF, Santa Cruz, San Jose, Sacramento, Monterey) or S CA (Santa Barbara to San Diego) and then do the other another time. Also Yosemite (Central East) is cool for Camping if you like to do that. Go to AAA insurance and get a VIA magizine. Then you will see there is too much to do in a week. Depending on what you do and how you spend for food, you could get by with about $50 a day+- Come on down to CA and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Alcatraz tour is supposed to be interesting. It is often sold out unless you book in advance. I have tickets to do this later this month. Their website is:

    http://www.alcatrazcruises.com/

The Gray Line tour is fun and interesting. You could get tickets usually the same day at Pier 39. I have done this last year when we found tickets to Alcatraz were sold out.

Yosemite National Park is worth seeing in your lifetime. Lodging is expensive and booked in advance. It might be possible to find lodging in Merced and do a day trip out of there to Yosemite. I have not actually tried this, and I don_t know how expensive lodging is in Merced in summer. The last time I actually visited Yosemite was about 15 years ago. It was early November, and even then the only available lodging in Yosemite Village was a tent.

  • San Francisco is a great place to visit for the day. You can have your portrait drawn by a street artist for very little money like maybe 20 bucks? You can get a piece of Ghiardelli chocolate at the main store there. You can take a ferry out to Alcatraz! You can drive down Lombard Street-the crookedest street in the world, as they call it. It_s a whole day easily spent in the city.

In San Diego there_s a dog beach that_s awesome. Even if you don_t have a dog you can go watch all the dogs run without leashes and playing with their owners. It_s cute and really fun! Also there_s some amazing authentic mexican stands you can get a carne asada burrito! Very amazing mexican food because it_s all authentic.

Have a blast! It should be a memorable trip with your friend. I_m jealous!

  • definitely reserve the rooms in advance! there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it_s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
  • What is the best time to visit south carolina?|118182

Need to visit south carolina sometime next year and want to find out the best time to go there?

  • Oh there is a lot here.

The best times to visit the states coastal areas, beaches and towns are during spring, summer as well as fall. Most families and golf enthusiasts should prefer to visit during the summer and retirees and people interested in quieter activities like hiking and RV travellers should consider the fall and spring seasons as it is quieter during that time of the year. That being said C to vist the great historical and cultural attractions, any time of the year is a good time.
Here are some of the things you should consider:
The high season to visit is from May through August
The off season is December through February
The shoulder season is from March and April and then from September throughNovember
    Weather
South Carolina has a humid, sub-tropical climate, with long, hot summers and short, mild winters. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons. In winter, temperatures generally average 5 to 7C (40 to 45F) in inland areas, and 12 to 15oC (55 to 60F) by the shore. Summer temperatures, modified by mountains in some areas and by sea breezes in others, range from 24 to 29oC (75 to 85F), and can reach as high as 32oC (90F) and above.
    Required Clothing
Lightweights are advised throughout the year, with warmer clothes for winter. Beachwear is popular, and protection from the midday sun, such as sunglasses and sun hats, is advisable.

    Crowd Information
Summer holidays such as the 4th Of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day and some of the other big holidays attract large crowds to the coast. The spring and fall seasons attract less crowds, although it is still very pleasant from weatherwise.
When are places open during the year :
Most of the hotels, shops, malls and similar places are open through out the year. Some regions are subject to seasonal closures though C As an example, in popular tourist areas like Myrtle Beach, attractions such as amusement parks and water parks could be closed during the winter.
Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park are generally open in March and operate on a limited schedule until late May, and they then open through the summer on a full schedule, cuting back their hours in September, and tend to close completely in October.
The water parks are open from May through September generally, scale back to limited hours in May and September. There are Some businesses on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and other related communities that close during the winter months. The hotels, malls, entertainment theaters, outlet retail centers, restaurants and bars are open year-round (some restaurants may close during the winter but that there are a very few of them).
There are some major destinations that remain open throughout the year and they include NASCAR SpeedPark, Alligator Adventure, Childrens Museum of South Carolina, Ripleys Aquarium, Waccatee Zoo, the IMAX Discover Theater, MagiQuest, and Brookgreen Gardens.

  • I would say the springtime ... during SPRING BREAK!
The sun is warm and the water feels great!
Don_t go in the summer because that is hurricane season and your vacation will be destroyed!
  • Going to Miami in late July, will be going to ball games and wanna spend time on beautiful beaches. Any ideas?|117115

I need help finding a hotel that is close to both the baseball stadium and a great beach. Also naming some things to do and things to see while in the Miami area would be appreciated.

  • it gets really hot in the summer time here and all the beaches are about the same
  • What city would you prefer to live in San Fran or Chicago and why please?|117785

I love big city living and can_t decide to venture up to San Fran OR go BACK to Chicago.

  • This is a tough choice but here are a few differences to consider:

    1. Chicago has lower costs of housing and cost of living in general. The housing market has been dropping a lot here and prices have fallen quite a bit.

    2. Both have ok job markets, do you have any job offers in either city? Which has better prospects for your career?

    3. San Fran has better weather in general, but they have earthquakes and electrical blackouts and forest fires too. Chicago just has cold and snow.

    4. Where do your family and your friends live? This is always a big part of the decision. A supportive family and friend network can make all the difference in getting settled. Unless you specifically want to be away from family, then that is another story.

    5. Chicago has better public transit, although you may risk your life sometimes to ride it late at night.

  • I guess it depends on what your _into_.

If you are hetrosexual then come back to Chicago... (We have a VERY SMALL _alt_ community for such a large city)

If you are homosexual or in to an _alt_ lifestyle then go for SanFran...

Personally? I will ALWAYS come back to Chicago...

No matter how long I_m gone... Every time I fly into O_Hare... I just know that I am _Home_.

I LOVE it here... But I feel free to visit anywhere else! LOL!

  • I for one would go to Chicago because i do not like the hotness of San Francisco. I also want to move to Chicago because it has some major sight seeing i want to see before i die.But it your life not mine so do what you please.

  • I live in the bay (san fran bay). its a great place to live, but its very expensive for housing. beside that the bay is SO Cultured and diverse. close to the ocean, great restaurants, good shopping, and much more

  • San Francisco because not only the city is beautiful, also the surrounding area ! ;-)

  • i would choose san francisco!!! awesome city to stay in.. and im not saying the suburbs.. in downtown san francisco..
gr8 weather.. awesome nitelife.. u can do ne type of activity ur interested in!

  • san fran is awesome, its pretty, trendy, clean, and theres so much to do.

  • chicago. i have family in chicago and its closer to my immediate family in st louis

  • I think San Francisco becuase people get shot all the time in Chicago

  • San Francisco. Close to the ocean. Good restaurants.
