What are some good areas of denver to live? They need to be safe and near the hospitals.?|126373

I am 24 and about to graduate from Respiratory Therapy. I am planning to work at one of the children_s hospitals in Denver and would like to know what would be a close and safe area to live. I am single and would like to live where there would be other young people in their 20_s and 30_s. I can afford apts around 800-1000 a month. any ideas?

  • I live in the south east denver border right across the street from aurora on alameda ave.
about 15 minutes from the children_s hospital and 15 minutes from downtown
    It fits everything you want,
here_s a link to an apts complex,Rent is around $780-890

    http://www.sevenoaksapts.com/

The apts are pretty nice and so is the management

  • Stay South in town. Stapleton is surrounded by high crime areas. It_s nice and new, but my ex-husband was a cop in that area. I would not live there.

Check out Congress Park, Washington Park, Cheeseman Park, University Hills, and Highlands area if you like more urban areas. You_ll be about 15 min. to the Children_s Hospital. You_d also be close to other hospitals if you decide to go elsewhere.

If a little more suburban is your style then I_d stay on the south side of the metro area.

You can check local crime statistics with the police departments before you sign a lease anywhere.

  • I live in Stapleton which is the East part of Denver, and I would say its at most 15 minutes from Children_s hospital, and at most15 minutes from National Jewish. Stapleton is definitely a safe neighborhood, it has a mix of young people and young families. I like it (I am 24 as well). I share my apartment with my roommate, it_s 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms for $1030/month, so I think you could definitely find something in your price range. Let me know if you need any more help!

  • Aurora or Stapelton.
Aurora is less safe {but still safe, lived there all my life no problems} but cheaper.
and stapelton is more expensive but more safe.

I live in a part of aurora that about 5 minutes by car to the hospitals, even with walking distance. its nice haha.

  • South or East Aurora, which is about 15 minutes from The Childrens Hospital. Make sure you go South of Mississippi and East of Chambers.

  • You should check out the Quebec area. There are alot of new homes being built and it is not to far from the hospitals on Colfax.

  • If you can afford to live in Cherry Creek then do so. It_s really nice.
  • Any ideas for a nice quiet place to go to visit with my sister on the north side of Indianapolis?|125975

Looking for a park or somewhere like that. Not really wanting to spend a lot of money. Just some some where we can sit and talk.

  • The Broad Ripple area is pretty populous, but has a nice canal walk where you could sit on a bench and feed ducks and talk. There are also several cafes with outdoor seating that are reasonably priced and pretty tasty.

  • Indianapolis has lots of parks where you can sit and visit. I agree with the person who suggested Broad Ripple...it has a park plus lots of little restaurants/cafes that aren_t expensive. Does your sister live in Indianapolis? Ask her if she has any suggestions on where you two can visit.

Here_s a listing of Indianapolis parks:

Click on different ones to find out their locations. Hope this helps.

  • US 31 and 151st Street, go east a little to Cool Creek park. Quiet well kept park away from the hood.
  • When is the best time to visit Las Vegas?|136006

We want to visit Las Vegas sometime next year. When is the best time to try and go? We are more interested in the lowest prices than with weather (we all grew up in California and are used to 105 degree weather durring heat waves and very cold weather as well). Any advice you can offer would be great! Thanks!

  • October-November is a very good time to go to Vegas because the weather is much nicer at that time.
hotel rooms are cheaper during the week...i wanna say sunday-thursday. u can stay at a really nice hotel for like $150 a night during the week(on the strip), and end up paying $500 a night in the SAME hotel, but pay more because u went during the weekend. so hotels are cheaper during the week. we did the mistake of going during the weekend.
i grew up in California too, and Vegas_s weather will top Cali_s anyday!!! i came back from Vegas and we were still out on the strip around midnight and it was still hot outside. and it went up to 115, 118 outside...my mom_s friend had suggested to us, to rest during the day(when it_s REALLY hot outside), and go out at night, when it_s a bit cooler, and plus, Vegas looks prettier at night.

  • mid fall....go to weather.com or search for best time for traveling in Las vegas...ur bound to find something

  • Generally, Las Vegas is much cheaper and less crowded durring the week. Seasonally, February through May seems to be busiest, with the covention season, NCAA basketball tourney betting and Spring Break. The week before Christmas is often pretty quiet, but it quickly gets busiier, with famously fully streets at New Years.

  • The prices in Vegas do not seem to go by a season. We have found that the best time to go is Monday thru Thurs. I believe that most of the shows are dark on Mondays and most package deals are for 3 day weekends (Fri.--Sun.).

  • Go around Christmas time during the week (Sun to Thursday) for the best hotel rates.

  • One of the least expensive times to visit, and least crowded is the time between the end of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I like the weather best in September. We have also gotten great deals in April. Summers seem to be most expensive. I_ve been about 13 or 14 times...all times of year. You just never know when you are going to find a deal. I have found the best deals at www.worryfreevacations.com Give them a try.

  • We just qouted a package for August 21st to August 24th air from Detroit for two people staying at the Luxor. It was priced at $650 ($325 per person). So if you can stand the heat then August has some great deals. If you are interested in working with us you can contact us or visit our website to submit a free qoute request at bctravelcompany.com. Another website that offers some fantastic Las Vegas deals is travelfunjet.com

    BC Travel Company

  • I think u need to check the weather channel website. It is so hot and I am in Kansas. The heat index was 111 so it must be very hot there. I would wait till it cooled off.

  • Anytime except summer because it is soooo hot. I recommend September.

  • The cheapest time is August and even better Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • How practicle is it to get 6 people in a 4 person room in Las Vegas?|121027

Looking to save some money and scrunch people into a room. Besides the uncomfortable-ness of it all, how strict are hotels on this, and is there really a way they could find out? I stayed at the Mirage once and I do remember having to show your key to goto the rooms, but I am not too worried about this, as we should have multiple keys.

  • It is possible, lots of people do it every day. The best way to do it is have only two people check in and ask for two keys (usually the max they_ll give you.) If you need more keys, have one of the people that checked in go down and ask for another key (they_ll have to show ID). You_ll probably have to have people travel in pairs, or plan who_ll be out of the room when so someone can always get in. Some hotels ask to see your room key when you enter the elevator banks, but they don_t inspect it enough to tell what your room # is or anything. They just want to know you are staying at the hotel. A word of caution though: If SOMEHOW the hotel does find out, they could charge you anywhere from $15-$30 per person, per night on top of your nightly rate. Depending on where you want to stay, I would just try and find a cheaper hotel so you can spread out, and just ask for adjoining rooms, or rooms on the same floor.
    http://www.goldcoastcasino.com
is a great hotel (off the strip but it has a shuttle that takes you to the strip) and it_s very clean. They have an awesome, cheap buffet and a really good slot club.

  • The only hotel I have ever had to show a room key at to get to the elevator is New Orleans. It is probably entirely possible, other than the comfort value. Rooms in Vegas are so cheap though, you could get two rooms for less than 15 bucks each if you book far enough in advance, less than that still if you stay downtown.

    look at www.vegas.com for rooms.

  • Personally, I wouldn_t suggest it. I have worked in the hotel industry and If they do happen to figure it out some way, you could be thrown out and you won_t get your money back. Also, keep in mind that many of the hotels in Vegas have _eye in the sky_ cameras that monitor all comings and goings.

The other thing is they are only going to give you towels for 4 people, so keep that in mind. I guess you could take your own.

  • It_s really quite easy since most hotels are so large that they won_t be keeping track of who comes and goes. Once some of you check in, you can let the others in. Just make sure that while you check in, the others are out of sight. Simple as pie.

  • You can probably get away with it. But if you are caught, you could be thrown out. And with 6 people the noise level could get too high, thus drawing attention to your plan and increasing the chances of being thrown out.

With tourists being such a good target for crime, I am sure that every hotel in Vegas has cameras in the hallways. I am sure they will notice if people are constantly going in and out of a room.

I would suggest either finding a suite that can sleep 6, or just pay a little extra for 6 people. I am sure most places wouldn_t mind if you are simply up-front about it.

  • What we do is we get a two bedroom suite at the Polo Towers. It_s pretty cheap and on the strip next to the Aladdin. There is a sofa bed so it sleeps 6 and they give you 6 towels. There are two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen with a dining table. www.polotowers.com

  • LOL! We crammed like 10 people in a room once. We were sleeping all over the floor... well most of the time everybody was out doing stuff.
    It_s definitely possible!

  • They wont know. I have never been to a hotel where they asked to see the card. I have told the hotel that there will be only 2 people in a room then crammed in like 6 or 7. I think that hotels automatically give you 2 keys too. And there is usually always a couch, and then you can call for one of those fold up beds.

  • The hotel won_t care if you cram however they may either charge more or insist you get two rooms if you want 6 keys. Some hotels are more strict than others...depends where you stay. You could anonymously call the hotels you are interested in and ask what they would do.

  • It_s possible. After you check in, later that night or the next day tell them you lost your key and they will give you more. Every hotel I stayed at has asked for keys past a certain time at night. You can also call house keeping and ask for a rollaway bed or cot.
  • How much money would you suggest I save up for a one week honeymoon in Disneyworld?|110117

I_ve got plenty of time I think, I_d just like to know how I could get a good deal and still feel like royalty that week! :-) Any suggestions?? Thanks!

  • It depends what you are wanting, when you are going ,etc. I suggest trying to plan a year in advance, or as soon as the dates become available for sale. This way you have the most choice. Find a good travel agent ( I use
    http://mousetrips.com/WaltDisneyWorld.ht
and they are absolutely wonderful with planning very magical trips) to help you, same price but tons of benefits. That way, as soon as a promotion comes out, they will have it changed over for you so that you can save some money.

Since you are saying that you want to be treated like royalty, I would definitely suggest a deluxe resorts. You will have a lot of choices. Yacht and Beach is one of my favorites as well as Polynesian and Grand Floridian is very luxurious. These are going to be costly, I would also suggest the dining plan, or even the premium or platinum plan if you are really wanting to go all out. And then I would suggest length of stay tickets, and/or the premium upgrades. Assuming you are planning to go for a week, with all of the stuff I mentioned in a deluxe hotel with concierge service, I would say about $5,000 would be a good amount to save up. Now, this isn_t including air, spending money once you arrive (if you have the dining plan you won_t need nearly as much) and then transfers or a rental car.

Now, you really could spend a lot less, but this is going with what you described and really having a royalty stay. You could probably get something nice for around $2,000.

I hope that this gives you a little better idea. If you have any other question, feel free to e-mail and I will try to help you out.

    Congratulations on your wedding!

  • Two grand, at least.

  • Probably in the vicinity of $1,500.. the biggest expense will be getting intno Disney World.. what a rip off

  • about $5000 if you want to do it well.

  • For a decnt one at least $3,000
resort, plane tickets, and park tickets are roughly $2,000 or more but then theres the food and other necessities.

  • A lot.

Here are some ballpark figures for your trip (other than the expense of getting there since I don_t know where you are coming from).

Tickets into the park will cost you roughly $210 each for the week. Buy them at disneyworld.com or from a Disney Store. There are no places that will give you more than a few bucks off a ticket. Don_t fall for any site that is offering really cheap tickets. It is either a scam or a way to lure you into going to see a timeshare presentation or something like that.

The hotels onsite will run you somewhere between $100 and $300 a night depending on which resort you stay at. The $100 rooms are very basic but still offer you a Disney experience. The higher end resorts are great. Very nice with all of the ammenities you could want. You will be treated like royalty. There are also some perks that only onsite guests receive (eg. getting into a park an hour early). But, if you want luxury without paying that much, there are literally hundreds of hotels within a few mintures of DW in all different price ranges. I always use tripadvisor.com whenever I look for hotels anywhere. They will give you good prices and unbiased reviews of the hotels.

If you stay onsite, those are the only costs you will HAVE to pay other than food. Everything else is provided for you. But, you cannot possibly go to DW without spending money on stuff you want. Food there can run you anywhere from $6 a meal to $50+ depending on where you eat. You must eat at least one time at a nice restaurant. They have some really cool ones in EPCOT and all of the luxury resorts have one. And, if you like souveniers (who doesn_t?), you can spend $10 or $1000 on them. (Hint: Bring an extra suitcase to take them all home!) If you stay offsite, you will need a rental car (don_t rely on the hotel transportation) and $8 for parking per day. But, you can save a few $ by eating in your room.

So, overall, the cost can be as little as $1000 or you could spend well over $3000. And, you need to add in the cost of getting there. If you like, you an e-mail me if you have any specific questions. Motts1962@yahoo.com

Oh, one last thing - you don_t have as much time as you think. Do NOT wait to start planning. Start now!

  • I would say if you want to have a really good time five to ten thousand dollars would be a good amount so you can enjoy all of the luxuries that they have their. Why don_t you also try their website so you can price things and maybe start looking at discounts when you book things in advance you may have a chance at getting better discounts. You can also request that they send you some information and they will sometimes include brochures that will have discount packages.

  • Have you checked with any of the airlines flying to Orange County_s Anaheim Airport (John Wayne International)? Sometimes those airlines have packages that not only cover your motel stays (There are several inexpensive motels within walking distance of Disneyland), but also trips to Disneyland and other theme park areas.

You should also call the Anaheim Convention Center to find out what conventions it is hosting during the time you are going to be in that city. Then, when you have the information, call the association involved with any particular convention and find out which airlines are giving special deals for travel to Anaheim. I did that a few years ago and, by indicating to the airline that I was going to a convention of the California Dental Association, I not only got a lower fare, but also whatever additional packages came with it. My wife and I had a great time in Southern California.

  • You are going to have a GREAT time in Disney!

First off you are going to have to buy you twp matching Mickey hats, Bride and Groom of course! The Bride hat has a veil and is super cute. Cost is probably $50 total but when you wear these to the parks then cast members tend to pay extra special attention to you.

So you are up to $50.00!

For the rest you can easily look up the ticket prices so add that to the total and then for spending money....

If you are planning on a nice upscale dining experience to celebrate at least plan 100-150 per each upscale meal. Usually one is enough.

There are several mid end places to eat and if you don_t go to extravagant then you can plan on spending maybe $100 a day on food.

You need to shop, especially in Epcot. That is what half of Epcot is all about and there are such unique items to find there. I would budget at least $300 for Epcot shopping alone, and of course if you can afford it bring more.
I don_t want you to feel left out from that super shopping experience.

So many romantic things in Disney are free, like walking the boardwalk in the evening to the ferries that take you around.

Don_t forget to take at least a day to rest by the pool and enjoy your new marriage. Try this sometime in the middle of your vacation. Your footsies and energy level will need this. This will also help out your budget. A day to relax and enjoy each other will be fabulous.

All in all without including tickets or hotel $1500 to $2000 will get you a fab vacation at Disney.
  • I am going to be in Seattle in February and would like to do some outdoor activities?|144521

I am not skilled enough to do the hard mountain climbs, but am up for camping, hiking, whitewater rafting, and lots more! I_d also like a guided service rather than planning my own. Any suggestions? I have about 3-4 days to spend.

  • Dicovery Park is a short bus ride from Downtown and has nice beaches and trails. if ya can go to a Town called Gold Bar WA,
Wallace falls is there and got a 7.5 mile trail to the top and some great hiking in a rainforest around. big trees and lots of giant ferns and one of a kind moses. starts out a little lame but gets ruff towards the end, bring water and food

  • February is the Rainy Season - stay indoors. If you are in Seattle in the latter part of February - go see Julius Caesar at the Seattle Opera.

  • bring a raincoat or umbrella or both lol

  • There are lots of great places around Seattle for what you want..but remember seattle is in a rain forest...February will be WET. There_s a really great outdoor retail activity store in seattle called REI...they should still be there..I_m in vancouver.bc...but I bet they could help with more information.

  • The best outdoor activities for that time is skiing or snowboarding.
The Summit at Snoqualmie is juat about an hour east, and Crystal Mountain about two hours south.
If you wanna do hiking and camping: Seattle is awesome for that, but not in February...

  • As a former Seattlite, the quality of life there is fantastic! There are so many things to do it_s just unimaginable. You could take in Mt. Ranier, Ferries everywhere, Seattle Central, the Piers, A terrific zoo, Northwest Trek, and so much more!
The weather in February towards the end of the month the beginning of spring with all the cherry blossoms and just so beautiful!
Hotels are cheaper outside of the city and away from the airport. Restaurants galore and really a very easy city to navigate! The shopping is fantastic with malls in Tukwila, Federal Way, and Bellvue being some of the best. And of course, the city mall and shops! The monorail will take you right from seattle city mall to the seattle central area!
  • Can i rent a car in houston texas and turn it in in new york?|169719

We are planning a trip to new york in march. We are leaving from Houston Texas. Can I rent a car in Houston and turn it in in New York? We plan on catching a plan back.

  • You can, but it will cost a lot more than returning it in Houston.

  • Sure, but it_ll cost you far more than the airplane flight. Driving 1700 miles? Don_t do it. Fly there, rent a car (not at the airport) and fly back.

  • it_s cheaper to fly there too than driving unless u want to visit other cities on the way.
thousands of miles is a lot of gas money.
