  • What is the easiest and most accurate way to find out about fire restrictions in Colorado?|190456

I haven_t had any luck on the state park website.

  • Call the town fire dept that you are going to. Use the business line not the emergency #. They will know, if its an outside fire there are different class days for outside burning.
  • What is it that intrigues us so much with ghost towns and abandoned amusement parks?|190938

I don_t know why but I just find them so neat and fascinating. Does anyone else share these same feelings?

  • I find both of those things _creepy_, and not necessarily fascinating. Although now that I think about it, I might find it interesting just to know the history and how they got that way.

  • Yeah, years ago it sure was a blast walking down the boardwalk after the park shut down for the night. It_s quiet at night out there and it_s a little chilly so we wear trench coats. Santa Carla in winter- the cool breeze comes in over the Pacific ....

HOO HOO HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, Scooby Doo and his gang. For some reason, they are ALWAYS at some ghost town or abandoned amusement park. It might be because there is a costumed guy (or gal) trying to frighten people off so that they can buy the town/park cheap. And they would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn_t been for those meddling kids ....
  • How much does the food in the theme parks cost on average?|120451

If I were to eat in one of the theme parks, how much would it cost each for one meal in dollars? How expensive are the restaurants? Are they more expensive in Disney than the other parks? I went to Disneyland Paris and it cost a lot! Where_s the best place to get food if I wasn_t going to eat at the theme parks, like things from a supermarket? Is the stuff cheap there? I am staying on International Drive. Thanks. :)

  • If you are staying off property, your nest bet is to go to a store and buy stuff to have around. Food will be normal store prices if you go to a major food chain store. Food inside the parks really varies. Here is a link to a site with TONS of info about Disney World, This is the link to the dining part:
    http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/di
If you do not fill in any fields and just click submit, it brings up a whole list of all of the places to eat all over Disney. Click the names of the places, and it shows a sample menu. The site is fabulous, look around on it!

  • We have been checking out this info too. we are going to disney world this march. i heard that the sit down meals are priced at $25-$60 for one meal! we are getting a fridge in the hotel and going to the supermarket and buying some grocery items. drinks, sandwich stuff, fruits, salads. things like this. we are also renting a car so we can just drive to McD_s or BK or something. it will be cheaper than eating there for meals and snacks. they also have meal deals if you want to pay that much all at once. for a family of 4 it was about 600 for a week just for the Food part. but that was all meals and snacks.

they have a list of many foods on this website
disney is very overpriced so I suggest going to the super market and maybe packing a sandwich for lunch every day and a few bottles of water. You can allow your self maybe 1 snack or meal in the park every day.
thes restaurants are quite expensive and you need advanced reservations up to 180 days before but soon changing to 90 days

  • your best bet is to go to the supermarket cause you will spend about 8 dollars on just a burger and about 4 dollars on a small drink its very expensive there and thats at one of those cheap stands they have there.
  • Where would you suggest staying for Christmas and New Years in FLORIDA?|180426

HI. My family and I (6 people) are planning a trip to Florida this Christmas season. Where would you sugest a place to stay? Were planning on going for about 2 weeks, so we would like to stay at 2 different places- one for Christmas and one for New Years. We would like a place with a beach front at which our kids can have a good time. THANK YOU!

  • Since there are 6 people in your group, renting a house or a condo would be a great idea. There are lots of choices for rentals in the Miami area. It_s best to do your homework and use online research to find available places to stay that fit within your budget.

Rather than give you a specific property name and location, I would suggest that you do some research on the available houses/condos, the prices and the locations. I have used justvr.com in the past and it was quite helpful for narrowing down my choices and booking a few nights stay.

  • If I were you I would definitely try to rent a timeshare week. If you have kids it is the only way to go. You can cook and eat in your unit and save hundreds by avoiding restaurants! I would definitely plan to stay in the Disney area for the New Years part of your holiday for the fireworks alone! You might be pushing your luck if you think you will definitely have beach weather in December. If you can get a spot at the Fountains in Orlando it has a lovely water park right on site. There is a resort called Summer Bay over near Kissimmee and it has a LOT to offer too. I canvassed some Floridians and they tend to agree that Clearwater area is the place to be for beaches. Beware of a company called Payless for a car rental. They scare you into buying insurance you do not necessarily need. Our great _deal_ cost us nearly 125 dollars extra.
Have a great time folks! And by the way... AVOID Miami... VERY dangerous I have been told .... and by people who live in the area.

  • At this late date, I_d suggest you take anything you can get! You could try HomeAway.com - perhaps they_ve had some cancellations. Or, use one of the _usual_ travel websites [Travelocity, Expedia, etc.] and see what_s available. You_ll pay a premium for Christmas and New Year_s weeks, of course, and being right on the beach will add to the cost.

Hope you can find something nice!

  • Quit asking this form of questions - money is one of the least critical points of human life!

  • Disney World!
  • How many states are there in America?|106314

I_m going to this quiz tonight and my topic i_ve been given to remember is America and i need to start somewhere and i_m confused, because i though it was 51 but others say 52 and others say 50! HELP!

  • There are 50!!!!!!!!!!

  • I assume you_re asking about the U.S.A. - There are 50 states in the U.S.A

But, there are also 31 states in Mexico which is also part of North America.

I am unaware of any other countries in N. or S. America that have States - though there could be some I am unaware of.

  • 50 states in the U.S.A.

  • 50...

  • 72

  • canela got it right, its 50, plus all the territories, but those territories are not considered _states_.

Would Iraq be considered a US territory?

  • 50 States of America 48 in the US - Alaska is above Canada and Hawaii is in the Pacific Ocean.

  • There are 50 states. Alaska was number 49 and Hawaii number 50. That_s where the TV show got its name, Hawaii 5-0.

  • There are 50 and then there are territories like American Samoa, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, Wake Island, Midway Island, The Panama Canal Zone, etc. that are not States but are jurisdictions associated with the US.

  • There are 50. There are the 48 contiguous states (connected on the same land mass) and Alaska and Hawaii.

  • 50

  • 50

  • 50 some are owner but not part of the United States

  • 50, but some of our politicians are in a State of Confusion.

  • WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON THAT YOU DONT KNOW HAW MANY STATES IS IN THE US?! You might be a forigner. Anyway its 50

  • Technically there are 46 States and 4 that are called Commonwealths.
    The 4 Commonwealths are
    Kentucky
    Massachusetts
    Pennsylvania
    Virgina

But for all intensive purposes they are all States just different meanings so there would be a total of 50.

  • 50 states!!!!!!!

    trust me

  • All the answers I see so far come from citizens of the United states . America- is continent not a country. North America or South America? Or did you mean to ask how many states in the United States of America?

  • 50 --- it was 48 then they added Alaska and Hawaii -- years ago

  • 63

  • 52

  • I am almost positive it is 51
  • What is the best place to live if Im working in Manhattan?|180028

I_m trying to figure out what borough would be a good place to live. I_ll be working in downtown Manhattan, on the corner of Hudson and Houston streets. I_m trying to balance price with commute time. Manhattan is pretty expensive so I_d prefer to live somewhere else if I can find a good place.

  • Looking at Google Maps real quick, I notice that Hudson and Houston Streets is 1 block from the Houston St. 1 subway station, and about 5-10 blocks, depending on which direction you walk, from the Spring St. C/E subway station and the West 4th St. A/B/C/D/E/F/V station. So you could look for apartments that are convenient to any of those subway lines but I think for downtown, Brooklyn would be your best bet - the commute would be marginally shorter. Hudson and Houston is also about 5 blocks from the Christopher St. PATH station, so Hoboken or Jersey City, NJ are also possibilities since there is direct PATH service. You could go further out in search of cheaper housing, but then you_ll spend more time on the PATH or subway each morning.

  • Try Jersey City or Hoboken, easy commute on the PATH train.

  • Jersey City or Hoboken = closest
Brooklyn = close second...of course brooklyn is huge...but from the trendy yuppie areas (Park Slope, Fort Greene, Boerum Hill), etc. you would have a short commute.
Go to www.hopstop.com to calculate the length of any particular subway journey.
    Good luck.

  • Don_t give up on lower Manhattan so quickly. There_s a lot to be said for saving the 1 hour commute each way _ the ability to stay out until 2:00 am without having to worry about how you_ll get home.

  • New Jersey would be your best value and as the others said, the path train makes it convenient to live in Hoboken and Jersey City, they_re very nice places. You_ll probably want to avoid Newark.

If you want to stay in New York, then Brooklyn would be your best bet. Queens is great, but if you_re working downtown, Brooklyn makes more sense.

As should be obvious, the farther away from Manhattan you get (and for any given city the farther away from public transportation you get) the cheaper the rent.

    Good luck.

  • My friend that live in NYC has found some reasonable apartments in Queens, and it_s only like a 20 minute train ride to get where he needs to be, not exact on the location of his workplace but it_s a stones throw from Washington Park, close to NYU.

  • Long Island City in Queens

  • New Jersey.
Right by the river you_ll find nice houses with Manhatten view and the air is much fresher there. Think you can get to downtown Manhattan in 30 minutes or so, by boat or bus.
