  • What are some fun things to do in waikiki for free?|124540

We_re going for 7 days in mid-May and have a pretty tight budget, so, besides the beach, what should we do? Also, is it possible to hike up Diamond Head without getting a guide? What about the other hiking trails? Are trail guides mandatory or can we just go by ourselves?

    Any other tips are appreciated!

  • There are a lot of hiking trails, all free. Start with a buss pass
    Go to TheBus.org

Email any questions to me. Take the beach to Sandy Beach and Makupu_s Lighthouse (another free hike). Be careful and Sandy Beach and Makapu_u Beach, the waves are sometimes dangerous.

You can also ride around most of the island on the bus, normally $2, or free with the pass.

  • Diamond Head is not free.

  • Diamond head is free and no guide is needed. Actually you don_t need guides at any of the hiking trails. When hiking a long time ago when I was little my family and I would just head on up the trails ourselves.

Just this March three of my friends and I went hiking alone.

So, in short, you don_t need a guide for hiking trails.
  • How difficult is it to find a restroom in Las Vegas?|123598

I am traveling there soon and would like to know if I should take this in to consideration. If you are drinking on the strip or in a casino, is it difficult to find a restroom? Are they readily available? I would hope so since there is so much drinking going on. Because I like beer, but have to go every 10 minutes or so after I have had a few.

  • Yeah, the restrooms are everywhere here.

  • Readily available all along the strip. Never be afraid to ask someone where the location of the restrooms are because they are sometimes difficult to find. In the very low humid, high temperatures you will drink more water and will cause even more use. Add to that the alcohol intake and you will be a very knowledgeable person on restroom locations. Take care in that you are entering the correct restroom. The best rest rooms are at Caesars.

  • There are restrooms in all of the casinos, but don_t wait until you can_t stand it any longer because the casinos are huge and the washrooms, while there are tons, are not always at the entrance and sometimes difficult to find.

  • I had this situation a couple weeks ago in vegas. If yure on the strip just pop into a hotel you_ll easily find a restroom anywhere

  • Come on!! Of course Casinos and almost every restaurant along the strip has a restroom or even dozens!!! Where do you think people go when they have to go???
I_d see a doctor about having to go so often though!

  • There are multiple bathrooms in every casino, but find out where they are before you need them.

  • my boyfriend and I were there in march, and can probably say we used nearly the loo in almost every hotel along the strip!

  • Not hard at all.

You cant walk 20 yards without passing a hotel or casino. And they are always open to the public.

  • Plenty of restrooms in the casinos. I never have problems finding a place to go. You shouldn_t etiher.

  • Depends?

    http://vacation-in-vegas.com

  • Well hello every casino has a restrooms in them and u can use them.....

  • they are easily accesible in each hotel!! I recently went and i swear to u, my bathroom trips let me have a glimpse inside each casino!! Good luck!!
  • What is the policy at San Jose State University regarding cameras during concerts?|196935

I_m going to a concert there tonight and I have a medium-sized digital camera, and I was wondering if it_d be okay to take it in. Thanks to anyone who can help! (:

  • The use of cameras is generally more of a concern for the promoters and artist. This is out of efforts to protect their intellectual property rights and their livelihoods. SJSU would be concerned about the safety of the attendees. Flash photography may have some issues with causing temporary blindness that could lead to injuries.

  • I_m not that sure... but I think you could.
  • What is the most popular sport in California?|173361

Bay area-ish. San Fran, Berkeley, Oakland. That area.

What is most popular to watch and to play?

  • Okay SURFING is a hudge sport in CA love it have to do it every day. Also you will find that sports on the X-games are big here. Why because it is Cali!!!!!

  • Californicating

  • surfing is not nearly as big in the bay area as it is in southern california. the waters up here are colder and much much more treacherous.

in terms of watching the most popular things in san francisco are still good old baseball and football. Oakland is decidedly a football town. Basketball is not as big here because the warriors have been bad for so long.

in terms of what people play, I think soccer, frisbee, hack-a-sack, and skating are things you_ll see more of here than the rest of the u.s.
  • What is a good hotel on fifth avenue in New York?|114802

I am going during the middle of July. There will be one adult and two children(teenagers under 18) and we would like a room that is nice and does not cost an arm and a leg.

  • Hey!

Same as with your last question.

You can always try Priceline. I use it all the time and get nice 3 - 4 star hotels right in Midtown Manhattan all the time. You have to _name your own price_. There is a web site which tells you the method of getting the very best deal on a high quality hotel room in NYC and explains exactly how to do this with Priceline. Go to the section on _Cheap Hotels in the City_ or something like that.

    http://www.CheapInTheCity.com

    Have fun and good luck!

  • Not possible.

I_m sorry, I know that doesn_t answer your question. I_m not trying to be obnoxious. But seriously, a reasonably-priced hotel on 5th Avenue will be FAR north, not really the ideal location you_re hoping for. If you get a better recommendation, look up its location carefully. If it_s not below 96th street, then you_re not really where you want to be at all.

If you_re willing to negotiate as to your location, you could try Bed and Coffee (
    http://www.bedandcoffee.com/)
in the East Village, which is a really good location though not 5th Ave. It is very reasonably priced.

    Good luck!
