When can i start driving in Michigan?|154986

im 14 and a half and i herd you get a letter in the mail about driving. or about learning to drive. i live in Michigan. when can i start?

  • i live in michigan and am going through all these license programs right now. you have to be 14 and 8 months to start segment one of drivers training. while in that class, you first get a pink slip and then once the segment one ends you will be able to get a level one license.

to start tho, you do not get a letter. perhaps your school district does send letters but in the michigan area where i am you have to seek the instructor. for me it was my teacher, and they will give you all the forms and info you need.

good luck driving in the future and hope you do well!!

  • 18 years and above.
  • What is the best way to fly from Lucca, Italy to Philadelphia PA?|129869

I will arrive in Rome, take a tour thru Globus and then return to Lucca, Italy for a few days. I need a suggestion for a Hotel for six people. Then I need to return to the USA to Philadelphia, PA. Do I take a train back to Rome, then fly from there?

  • That would probably work. USAir goes non-stop from Rome to Philly. I just checked a few prices and they were very reasonable - less than $250 for a few randomly selected dates. I can_t imagine that you could do much better than that.

They have a trip planner on their main page. Put in the date you want to fly. Note that most flights from Europe to the states on USAir leave late morning (and arrive mid-afternoon) - when you enter the approximate desired flight time, if you enter something besides that, you may get a _no match._
  • Activities around Smoky Mountains? What is there to do on the weekend?|139900

We are planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains. We want to rent a cabin and take our dogs. We were wondering what is there to do besides the cabins in smoky mountains. What type of towns are near by and what type of activities do they hold?

  • Go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge... There are outlet malls, go karts, museums,,shopping , skiing, anything you could want to do outdoors. Camping, hiking, tubing , swimming. You could try going to Cades Cove. Visit gatlinburg tn chamber of commerce.com for more details.

  • Just got back from the Smokies after spending a week in a cabin (near Franklin, NC). We found a ton of waterfalls in the area that were incredible! Google has some good lists. We also had a ton of fun _mining_ for gems in the Franklin area (and had a lot of success too, Mason Mt. Mine is the best place to go after trying a few). Highlands, NC is a great little town with an old-timey downtown area, lots of neat shops and hip restaurants.
  • How old do I have to be to travel to America alone?|178561

I want to travel over to Orlando, Florida at the end of the year and go to Universal Studios, Sea world etc instead of going to schoolies. How old do I have to be to fly from Australia to America and spend a week or so there? I_ll only be seventeen at the time.

  • You need to get a tourist visa, and to get one you have to over 18. I know in Wisconsin, under 18_s are banned from being outside of home after midnight, i_m not sure what the law is in other states, but be careful. And DEF don_t go to schoolies on the goldie, that_s laim, if you wanna go somewhere exotic, why don_t you go to like southeast asia? That_s pretty fun... But better watch after yourself if you_re travelling alone.... And yes, i think with parents consents you might be able to travel alone :) good luck!

  • You have to be the age of 18 or older. Or consent by a parent.

  • I would guess you have to be 18 because i mean....18 is the legal adult age and what not so...yeah 18....
  • Nice neighborhoods for a family around Portland area?|173612

Hi, I am planning to move near Portland, probably a nice, low-crime and clean suburban area to raise a family. Which neighborhoods do you recommend? I am willing to go as far as 40 minutes of driving to downtown Portland.

Also, where are some hot realestate markets around Portland? Are there any newly developing neighborhoods with potentials around Portland or good neighborhoods to buy a single house for about 3-4 years investment?

  • Most neighborhoods in Portland are very family friendly. The culture of Portland really doesn_t promote commuting that far. An urban growth boundary around the city has kept most growth pretty close in. I would avoid Hillsboro or Beaverton they are anytown USA with strip malls and MCDonalds. I would look at the St John_s area and Milwaukee region. They are building a light rail train to Milwaukee so that area should see a good appreciation in value in the next couple years and you are only 10 minutes from downtown. St John_s and the Mississippi area are also rising in price quickly and still have some reasonable deals and both are very close in. Mt Tabor and Mt Scott neighborhoods are nice as well also close in. If you do not mind commuting the smaller towns outside Portland are beautiful, safe but also a little dull and not rising in price as fast as Portland. Like Boston MA, Portland has a lot of unique neighborhoods close in. You will really have to be here spending a couple days of exploring and you_ll find the perfect place.

  • If you want nice, comfortable and great place to raise children, the best side is the west side.

Hillsboro, Beaverton and the incorporated areas are all quite nice. There are few not so great areas, but they are easy to spot. Just stick to the developments and you will get nice clean neighborhoods, a 25-40 min commute downtown, little to no crime, and two of the best school districts in the state.

Also, Hillsboro is a great place to invest. the city has tripled in population since 1990, and the urban growth boundary keeps land values inside of it high. The agricultural ordinances outside the boundary mean that if you get a good spot and put a nice house there, the land value will skyrocket.

  • hmmm, if you want to be very close to portland, Gresham is about 10 minutes from portland, nice area but crime is moving out there- but its not bad. Houses are decent price, and lots of restaurants and stores. However, I live 35 minutes and miles from Portland, in the Columbia Gorge. Small town of Stevenson. The crime is zero. Houses are good prices and many to choose from. Schools are excellent! Small classes, well funded, and our teachers care. The town is very small (3000 people) but nice. It takes 40 minutes exactly to drive into Portland, 30 to Gresham. Contact the skamania county chamber of commerce for more info, visit stevenson-carson school district website for info. We go to Gresham and Portland often to shop, but would live nowhere else.
