What is the best cleanest economic hotel in Orlando?|174017

I will be going to Orlando, Fl in the next couple of months and I am looking for an extremly economic hotel that is also very clean. It is okay if it is basic but needs to be clean and economic. Anyone have any ideas?

  • We went for 10 days. The first 3 days were spent in Universal and we stayed in a Best Western that was within walking distance of the parks. The following 7 days we stayed in a spacious condo resort and did Disney and rented a car, but we didn_t cook much.

To save money look for a hotel that includes breakfast, that saved us lots of money, also, one with more space in the room we had 2 queen beds and a fold out couch in our room. You can also, eat in buffets, and off value menus at the fast food places its much cheaper than cooking, lol. Also, if you leave the parks for lunch you save money and the food tastes better. You can take snacks, sandwiches and water in with you. We used little backpacks for that reason. Parks stay open late so you don_t have to worry about losing time by leaving for lunch.

What I did was book the very lowest best western price online and used coupon codes I found online to bring the price down further. Then I bought Best Western gift cards (you can get them of gift card retailers online) which are usually 10-20% of the value and paid with them at the hotel. And to make it even more affordable we split the cost 4 ways, because we had such a spacious room.

Whatever you do don_t stay in a Days Inn, I haven_t seen a decent one anywhere yet, they are usually gross. We picked Best Western because I haven_t encountered a gross one yet, they are pretty much the same everywhere we go.

  • I have not stayed off site in a few years and things have changed since then. You do not state how much you want to spend so I am copy and pasting a webpage that lists Orlando hotels ~ with reviews and rates. The rates aren_t exact ~ you can check for discounts and specials and probably get it for less. The hotels are listed in order of good reviews ~ again that is not exact. Trolls could give bad or excellent reviews that alters the reviews.

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g34515

After you have reviewed all these hotels then check the Forum at the same webpage. Ask _them_ about the ones you like. The posters there are glad to answer your questions. They can tell you if it is clean, inexpensive, comfortable, and if the area is safe.

Another thing to consider ~ will you be driving? You will need to find a place with reliable shuttle service if you aren_t. Having a car is a major plus.

Good luck with your hotel search!

  • I have only stayed in a few different hotels in Orlando, and there are many that are very economic and clean, so it would be extremely difficult for me to tell you the _best._ I can, however, say that the most economic way to have an Orlando vacation is by staying in a condo or vacation home rental. Some of them are very well-priced, and the benefit is really having a fully-equipped kitchen, as eating in restaurants and theme parks for all of your meals every day gets REALLY expensive. You_d be amazed how much money you save going to Wal-Mart and buying some groceries, then eating most meals (usually breakfast and supper) at your rental place.

I only started planning my Orlando vacations this way last year, so the only resort that I can tell you about from experience is WorldQuest Resort. They have 2 and 3-bedroom condos will fully-equipped kitchens, washer/dryer, screened-in private balcony, plus they have a HUGE pool and free fitness center. It_s a gated resort, so is very secure. And the rates are VERY reasonable, I stayed there in April and paid about $140 a night, although I believe in the summer the rates go up to about $160 a night. Still extremely reasonable for what you get, not to mention all the money you save on food. It_s in a convenient location, just a mile from Disney World and about 15-20 minutes from Sea World and Universal Studios. Wal-Mart is less than five minutes down the road. The condos are VERY nice and VERY clean. You can check it out here:

  • The comfort inn in lake buena vista is usually only about 50 a night, depending on season and rooms are clean and they are near a ton of stuff.

  • Quality Inn Plaza on International Drive was a decent hotel and very cheap stayed in Feb.
  • What do I need to know before moving to Denver?|100554

So I_m a 32 year old guy (who lives and acts like he_s 25) who is moving from Phoenix to Denver sometime within the next 3 or 4 months. I_ve never been there before but my best friend lives there and another best friend is going to be moving out there in the spring to live with me. I spent 5 years living in Flagstaff so I know what it_s like to live in at least a little snow. Other than that, I_ve never lived outside of Phoenix.

That said, I_m curious what your advice would be on what kind of culture shock I might experience, what I should watch for, what I should avoid, etc. I do plan on flying out there in a month or so in order to check out the different areas and get a feel for where I want to live.

As far as my lifestyle ... I_m a professional working in the behavioral health field, I love getting out to random bars to check out random bands and I_m usually down for new things at least once.

  • Probably the biggest difference is that Denver has a proper downtown. Like Phoenix, there are a number of outlying communities, so it_s easy to find an area where you_re comfortable with the population density.

Commute traffic into Denver is maybe a little worse than Phoenix - but nothing like L.A. And there_s been a recent surge of NY style high-rise apartment-home construction in downtown Denver.

Weather-wise, not a lot different from Flagstaff, except that Denver is more exposed and gets the occasional arctic blizzard that shuts everything down for a day or two.

Hopefully you_re an outdoor-activities person. On a warm weekend, *everyone_s* outside, whether it_s cycling, hiking, climbing, kayaking - kind of like Flagstaff :)

  • You sound like you_ll fit it in just fine with all the hippies and liberals. Better yet, just move to Boulder.

  • This will be your kind of town. Denver residents, and most Coloradans, are outgoing and physical people. There are so many things to do, and places to visit. Just like Arizona, you_ll be able to get away from everyone easy enough, also. Take advantage of the state, and get out of town and explore a little. You_ll also be surprised just how much sunshine there is in Colorado. It_s tops for sunny days, all year long. Don_t forget all the sports teams, it_s a definite must in Denver.

  • The weather changes every 15 minutes.

  • a little snow is alot differant in Denver.... Be prepared!

  • Denver has a nicer downtown than phoenix.
Denver has much more culture than phoenix - Theatre opera etc.
    Denver is greener.
    Denver is more expensive.
Phoenix has NICE winters... We get blizzards and days when temps hit -5.
Denver has a great area filled with bars, night clubs, trendy apartments etc. Great for a young person - better than phoenix_s.
    We have tolerable summers!
Sometimes it will rain for a few days in a row... Are you familiar with the word rain in arizona?
    Denver has bad traffic.

I would reccomend moving to either washington park, cherry creek or Aurora if you are a young trendy person.

  • The Denver Metro area is diverse and vast. Much more in the metro area then Flagstaff. If you complain about the weather, wait 5 minutes and think of something else to complain about, it is realitivaly mild. Water is a concern in many parts of Colorado including Denver and there are often watering restrictions. Not known as a music meca, but there are plenty of great venues and concerts. I also work in the feild of behavioral management and modification as a private consultant and caregiver, and there seems to be plenty of work if you look around in that field. I_m origionally from the Tetons and it_s nice to be close to the mountains. Traffic can be a pain during rush hour. I would venture to guess you can find any kind of community you want.

  • make sure to have comprehensive coverage on your car they have some killer hails storms. Also insurance is expensive compared to other states
  • How much money would I need to move to New York City?|148684

How much money would I need to move to NYC without having a job or an apartment already waiting for me. I would plan to find an temp apartment prior to moving there, and once in that apartment, start a job search. How much money do you thinK I would need in that situation?

  • A tiny studio apartment in NYC (Manhattan) will cost about at least $1200. You_ll need to pay a security deposit (usually 1 month_s rent) plus first month_s rent so that will be about $3000 or even more if you use a broker. Or you can have a roommate which will cut down costs by half. Then you also need money for subway and food. So I_d say, plan to have about $4000.

  • Man.....ummm....NY is expensive just like LA......save up alot for about a year first.....but before you go I recommend that you find a job and apartment...makes more sense to do so before hand

  • You_ll save on car expenses, but you_ll need to save your money for taxis!

I think New York can be expensive. You really should first line up a job, then try to find an apartment as close as possible to where you will be working.

    Good luck!

  • Hit the lottery first. NYC is very expensive.

  • realistically..
sublets are more expensive than rentals.
    ( sublets about $3000. per month..rentals $2500.00)
but manhattan is very very expensive.
you would need a minimum of one years salary.
    ( rentals..food...clothing..etc..)
you don_t know how long your job search will take..nor do you know if the job you land will work out.
it_s not the city you want to wind up in with no money no job and no apartment.

  • More money than God

  • Oh man thats a tough one..it depends on where in NYC you want to live or relocate to.

why not find a job first and have a guarantee that you_re actually hired and then move out there ?

Finding a temp place to live isn_t that hard i nyc..you can go to craigslist
    http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/ny
and look things up same as you can look for a job first before moving out there.

If you_re just wanting to pack up and take like 5 thousand dollars with you you may be in big trouble..depending where it is you want to live..

Bronx ? Manhatten ? etc etc you know ?

Get a job first..that way you will have a better idea of what you can and cannot afford in terms of living and housing expenses and it will give you a better idea of how much money you have to play with in that big city.

    Good luck

Im wanting to live there but money is a big issue..

  • Hahaha actually New York is not as expensive as you think it is....

  • Live outside of NYC and get a job in the city. You can move to northern New Jersey and find a studio apt. in a nice area for about $800 a month, as opposed to $1500 a month in the city, you might even find a less expensive apartment in Queens and Brooklyn. You get the benefit of living near NYC without the expense.
  • What is the weather like at Sequoia National Park in early April?|198465

I am taking a road trip to Sequoia National Park in early April and I was wondering if some roads would be closed due to snow. I don_t own tire chains, so if there is some snow or icy roads, I need to know ahead of time.

  • What are the best things to do with your family in Baltimore, Maryland?|188915

My family and I are visiting Baltimore, Maryland soon and will be there for about a week? We have 2 teenagers. What are some things we might enjoy? Anything we have to do? Anybody know any neat (and preferably cheap) local restaurants?

  • I actually Live in Baltimore so it may be easy for me to answer the question:

    Average Baltimore Weather:
Average temperatures in the spring and fall are a mild 50 to 60 degrees. In winter, temperatures aren_t known to drop much lower than 30 degrees, but occasional snow is possible. Summers tend to be very hot and humid, with average temperatures in the 80s and 90s.

    Transportation
Most visitors to Baltimore choose to tour the city in a car. It_s fairly easy to navigate, given its many alternating one-way streets. Parking can be rather expensive, especially if you_re downtown. If you_re planning to travel from the Inner Harbor to areas north, it_s wise to take a cab. You can find taxis at most major hotels, the train station and scattered throughout the harbor. Depending on the distance you_re traveling, fares range from $5 to $10.

For those staying in downtown Baltimore, the Metro offers limited service. Don_t depend on it as your sole source of transportation. If you_re heading into the suburbs or BWI Airport, the Metro is great. It also makes stops at Camden Yards, Penn Station and Mount Washington. (metro buses)

    In-Season Costs
If you_re staying in downtown Baltimore during the spring or summer, rates might be a little higher. The Inner Harbor is slightly more expensive than other parts of Baltimore, but you should be able to find some bargains. Less expensive than the nation_s capital, Baltimore won_t break the bank.

Maryland Tourism - Baltimore Attractions, Activities and Day Trips

Annapolis: Annapolis is one of the oldest cities in the country. The U.S. Naval Academy was established here in 1845. Visitors to Annapolis will enjoy the waterfront festivals that take place each summer. Annapolis is known as a boating community, and tour and cruises are available much of the year. Annapolis is about one hour south of Baltimore by car.

Ocean City: If you have a little time to play while you_re in Baltimore, head over to Ocean City. Just three hours east of the city, this vacation spot is best suited for a weekend getaway. The resort town is an escape for Baltimoreans. Deep-sea fishing, windsurfing, sailing, cruising the boardwalk, or just lounging on the beach are favorite pastimes here.

Washington DC: The nation_s capital is just 35 miles away, easily accessible by train or by car via the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Take a day to explore the White House, the Mall, the monuments and the Smithsonian museums. If you_re planning to drive to D.C., keep in mind that rush hour will tack on at least an hour to your commute.

You also Have the wonderful Shopping, Camden Yards, Aquarium, Mini Golf, Fishing, Theaters, Boating, Shopping, Baltimore MD Recreation, Bowling, The Zoo _ More!

    Have Fun!
    =]

  • i went to baltimore, maryland and i loved it ( i am a teen) The best things to do are the aquarium and i loved riding the boats that are in near the inner harbor. If you have any girls, they will love the shopping, there are soo many shops ( inside one of the hotels in a mall i think its the marriot) you will have so much fun! also there is an espn center ( resturant and games in it)

  • Take a water taxi over to Fell_s Point and Canton; both have some really nice neighborhood eateries.
(Travel tip for eating: If it_s good enough for the locals, it_s probably really good food and not very pricey! Besides, you can have fast food at home.)
Walk around Canton and see the paintings on the window and door sceens. We found them, by accident, looking for a place to eat.
Check out the array of fish statues all over the waterfront area; they_re all different themes and great places for a photo.
(We especially liked the _Poe Fish_.)
Babe Ruth_s home is a museum, close to Camden Yards.
The Edgar Allen Poe House and Museum is there.

Have fun and don_t forget your camera.

P.S. You may want to invest in some of those disposable rain ponchos, from the Dollar Tree.

  • the aquarium is a must! not too much to see but enough for a worthy visit. have a meal at hard rock, or any of the other good places on the harbor. the science museum is doing a body world exhibit and its really cool for kids of all ages! the _duck_ ride drives you around the area and goes in to the water. its pretty cool...check it out if you have time
  • What is the best and least expensive wholesale flower market in St. Louis?|101516

I need to buy bunches of curly willow, and some long stemmed lilies.

  • La Salle St in south city is what is known as florist row. This is where the flowers arrive daily and the wholesale shops are located. It is one block south of Chouteau and west of Jefferson. They will not sell retail so you will need your wholesale number with you.
Another option is to check out the flower stalls at Soulard Market early on a Saturday morning. They usually have some good prices on flowers and other greenery.
  • What is the best way to get from OHare to downtown Chicago?|199134

I will be arriving on a Friday evening. Looking for the fastest and cheapest way.

  • Got wings? ;)

  • The fastest and cheapest way is to take the subway. There is a stop at O_Hare, it_s clean, safe and affordable and takes you right downtown into Chicago_s famous _loop_. Enjoy your stay in one of the world_s great cities.

  • The the Blue Line is the subway that runs from O_Hare. The CTA station is located at the lowest level of the Main Parking Garage (next to elevator center 4) and is accessible by pedestrian tunnels located in Terminals 1, 2, and 3. From Terminal 5, take the Airport Transit System (ATS) to Terminal 3 and follow the signs.

The fare is $2.00 one-way. If you are staying for a few days, consider buying a Visitor_s pass at the vending machine just before you go down to the trains.

The Blue Line runs 24 hours between the airport and downtown (the loop). It is the safest and cheapest way to get downtown.

  • Mission Impossible...LOL
