Is it safe to park my car on the street overnight in the Garden District?|166489

I can_t bear to pay $30 for overnight parking the French Quarter! I figure I can park on the street in the Garden District somewhere, and take the street car to the FQ. I know nothing is gaurenteed, and of course I_ll take anything of value out of the car. The Garden District seems like a nice area, I_ve seen some pretty nice cars parked out there! Any other suggestions for avoiding parking fees are appricated.

Yeah, i don_t see that being a problem.
I mean, obviously use common sense and read posted signs and don_t park next to a fire hydrant or anything...

Parking in the old garden district is tight. The problem you might have is that if you take someone_s parking space in front of their house, you are very likely to have someone come after your car with a tow or a wheel lock (a _boot_ as we call them here.)

The fine for illegal parking will be more than the $30 bucks. This is _penny wise and pound foolish_ if you ask me.

Are you worried about it being stolen? HAHAHA

You better worry about the grimy snakes called the Meter Maids.

They will tow your car at night, and make you think it_s been stolen.

Then, after you figure out where your car is at 3 AM, you_ll have to pay them more than $100.00 for the tow to the Impound Lot.

HAHA! yes. its safe. i_d be worried more about finding my way around. lol. just dont leave any valuables in clear sight and u should be fine!

What day and time are the best to drive through Atlanta GA to avoid traffic?|155580

Im driving to Florida in June and Im scared to drive through Atlanta after a game or during rush hour. Is there a time when the roads are relatively empty?

I grew up in Atlanta and learned to drive there. The rush hour is virtually nonstop now. If you need to drive during the day, I would try between 9:30-10:30am or 2-3pm. If you can drive through at night, that would be better, after 10pm like the other posters said. And definitely take 75 and not 285. There are way too many trucks on 285, it makes me nervous and I_m used to it! You won_t really save any time on the bypass, I usually make it through quicker driving through the city. There really isn_t any time when the roads are empty. Just make sure you are alert and don_t drive too slow! Good luck, you will be fine!

I am an over-the-road truck driver and I make it into the atlanta area often enough to know that to avoid most traffic you should go through between 10 pm and 3:30 am most any night. traffic outside those times can be intimidating to anyone not used to it. My wife gets anxiety attqcks in atlanta traffic if she goes during the afternoon for example.

Hamradio gave you good information about the time . . . I suggest also that you stay on I-75 and go straight through the center of town...much easer than the by-pass and it_s faster....

if there is no rush hour traffic or complete gridlock for 4 hours after a Braves game, or congestion or confusion or the occasional _10 lanes shut down in-the-blink-of-an-eye to 1 lane due to continuous and never ending and random construction, etc. you_ll be fine! just do what i do...
close your eyes, step on the gas, and pray (oh, and change lanes as often as possible just to add to the fun!)...or ask someone else to drive you and you sleep the entire way!

What is the hottest and most exclusive night club in miami right now?|166970

Next month I am taking my husband and some friends to Miami for his 25th birthday, we are staying at the Lowes Miami Beach, and i wanted to know what the best clubs were right now. I know clubs go in and out of style just as much as they do here in NY so i wasn_t sure if Mansion and Opium Garden were still the places to be.

I_d say Cameo, Mansion, or Prive. They_re all good, and they have different styles of music on different nights. There_s always Space, too, but it_s not on the beach (very close by though).

Check out the Marlin Hotel NightClub and bar on Collins. Its well renowned as a happening place these days and very cool - also I_m guessing should suit your age bracket.

Fridays you can go to Cameo, Stereo/Parkewest... and Saturdays belong to Space! lol
