How do I go from from Jersey City, NJ to the Meadowlands via public transportation?|128389

I do not want to go to NYC and take the Port Authority Bus as I am already in NJ. Can I take the Light Rail and transfer to a bus?

  • Are you close to Hudson-Bergen Lightrail Station? What stations are you close to?
Without that info, we cannot help you.

  • try www.njtransit.com

  • The light rail does go right to east rutherford/rutherford, but it is still two miles from the sports complex. There are buses that pick up here, but I don_t know because i never tried before.
  • What are the branches of Emily Strange stores in USA, do they have stores in California and Chicago?|126299

What are the branches of Emily Strange stores in USA, do they have stores in California and Chicago? I_ve heard there is in New York also, but I_m not going there. Anyways, can you tell me all the stores as much as you know? If possible, you can give me the map or address of some stores, especiall in California and Chicago. Thank you !!

  • If you are referring to the Emily Strange brand of clothing and merchandise, it is mostly manufactured in Berkeley, California, but I couldn_t find any reference to retail stores. It appears that these items are only sold on line through the _www.emilystrange.com_ website.
  • How much would a road trip from Northern Alabama to St. Augustine to Orlando and back cost?|139299

Okay we are thinking of taking a road trip this summer. We are leaving from the Alabama/Tennessee line

We plan to drive down to St. Augustine Florida and spend 2 days there and then drive to Orlando and spend 3 days there. 2 days to go to disney and 1 day to go to Universal studios and then come back

How much do you think a trip like that would run....

  • this depends on the kind of food and lodging you choose your close enough to drive straight through to both places so that will save you on lodging and if you get a room with continental breakfast that will be one less meal to purchase and you could always take coolers and eat in rooms sandshiches and stuff

  • $600.00 (less if you eat cheaply, more if you pig out).
Multiply by the number of people to get a total.

  • New York is expensive, and especially in Manhattan, cheap = horrible.

To save I would stay outside Manhattan or DC proper, and head for the suburbs.

Remember, if you are going with a child, you don_t want the absolutely cheapest, but also a place with a certain level of hygiene, security/safety etc. - if you think you can_t afford a hotel that would be safe and clean enough, I would consider couchsurfing or apartment-swap.

  • Avoid Hotel Carter at all cost. It top the list of the dirtest hotel in the USA.

_For the third time in four years, New Yorks Hotel Carter has been awarded the title of Dirtiest Hotel in America by TripAdvisor (the other year it was number two).

Roaches, bedbugs, filthy sheets and, oh yes, a dead body wrapped in garbage bags, are just some of the gems in this Times Square hotels crown._

    To get the lowest price....

    * book early
    * avoid being in Manhattan
    * avoid being near NY attractions.

You can try staying in NJ. Weehawken is an example and a $5 ferry get you to NYC in 5 minutes.

  • Does anyone know where there is a good poker game in Dallas Fort Worth. Traveling there?|129352

I am in Dallas Fort Worth on the Weekends and looking for a friendly poker tournament. Texas Hold_em is my favorite.

  • there are several friendly games around town.
you can find the sites on line by searching, once you are accepted they will send you invites.
    Look at www.meetup.com

  • Just bear in mind that money games are illegal in Texas so you_d be playing for chips and pride. Unless you are very well known, getting into a money game would be prohibitively difficult. In the ones I_ve um, heard of, you have to be a relative of a player, and in good standing.
  • What are the best places and the best things to do in Houston?|153507

I am going to Houston for the first time. I am going in December with my family. What are the best things you guys recommend me to do? Where are the best places I should go? I want to know fun places and must-see places

Thank you very much for your time

  • check this website, there a lot of fun things to do in Houston, just search for what you need. Theme Parks, Arcades, Comedy Clubs, Shopping Malls and many many more that is accessible on this website. Enjoy ;) Hope it will help you

  • to be honest with you nothing much at all. Take it from me Im from Houston lived here all 19 years of my life and all I can say it_s boring, nothing special to see at all! All there really is to do is go to some malls that ovbiously will get boring after a few times. I wouldn_t recommend anyone to live here or come for vacation its a dumb place to live, have fun or work at. Go try somewhere else that_s worth going to like Los Angeles, Miami, NY, anywhere like that.

  • My advice would be to stay far away from this city. It sucks. But if you insist on coming.

    - NASA
    - Kema (near NASA, fresh seafood)
    - Bellaire BLVD and Beltway 8 (This is the Chinese/Vietnamese section with lots of good restaurants. )
    - Lake Sommerville State Park (80 miles west of Houston)(
    http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/finda

    - Mel_s country cafe (
    http://melscountrycafe.com/)
is a bit out of the way, but is famous locally for its huge Megs-Mel burger (
    http://melscountrycafe.com/Megamelpics.h

    - Galleria (shopping)
    - The Houston Museum District (www.houstonmuseumdistrict.org)
    - Memorial Park (
    http://www.houstontx.gov/parks/memorialp

    - The Houston Rockets are playing in December, check out their web site to see if you can go to a game (
    http://www.nba.com/rockets/index_main.ht

  • NASA is a great family outing, Discovery Park is new and very nice, Houston Museum of Science and Natural History is good, Galleria or the Rice Village if you want to shop or people watch, eat some BBQ (I_m a fan of Pappa_s BBQ),

  • Ask 10 people. You will get 10 different answers. Not much to do in dec. in Houston except fight all the G.D. holiday traffic.

  • I don_t find Houston to be a very fun and exciting place to live. Houston sucks. Have fun at the mall.

  • Go to football game, katie mills mall, galleria downtown. Lots of good food and bars.
