What is there to do in Baltimore area with your boyfriend?|129061

I have been talking to my boyfriend for about 1 1/2 weeks and I want to do more than just going to the movies. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do? I am up for anything that is in Maryland and maybe even surronding states, but I don_t want to go too far. Thanks and Have a Happy Holiday season!

  • take a tour around d.c. they_re cheap but fun, or try the aquarium or downtown near the espn zone, much to do around there.

  • On a nice day/night you could go to the pier in Baltimore or Georgetown in DC. You could always go to Dave and Busters in Anne Arundel or the one in Bethesda.
It really depends on how old you are and your interests. Best of luck.

  • Go see Fort McHenry. If you get there early in the morning, you might even get to help raise the American flag, which is a pretty moving experience.

The B_O Railroad Museum is also pretty cool and so is the Babe Ruth Museum, especially if your boyfriend likes baseball.
  • What is the cheapest time to fly from Alaska to Hawaii?|103570

I have three teenagers that live with their mother and i i want to bring to Hawaii to visit me but i dont know when its the best time, I see the price wars for flights but that doesnt affect Hawaii most of the time only mainland.

  • Anytime outside of peak season (late spring/summer) is best to travel to anywhere.Try October to December (Tho Christmas and New Year prices will get hiked) and also try January to April. Guaranteed to have the lowest prices then..

  • When nobody is watching !

  • Universal rule of thumb. Flights are cheaper in the off-season (Which Hawaii really doesn_t have). But you can generally get cheaper flights between Febuary and April.

  • my friend told me the best time to go would be late afternoon. around 5
  • What is the best state to live in and why?|155043

I live in California right now and I_m ready for a change but I don_t know where I want to go. We have a 2 year old so it has to be good for families.

  • Ignore the other states! Ha ha!

    North Carolina! Here_s why:

Great weather. Great people. Great historic areas. Beautiful. Schools are decent. The private ones are very good. (And you can get a massive house for a third of the price of a California home.)

The Midwest is pretty dang flat. If you like mountains or hills the Midwest will bore you to tears. (Sorry) I have family there. Love them, but not so much on the flatness.

New York is full of options as well. Virginia is a great state.

Those are the three I_d suggest.

For schools, here_s a page the ranked each state:

    http://www.morganquitno.com/edrank.htm

Oh yeah... Gonna have to throw in the New England states too.

Guess you_re going to have to do some traveling!

  • There are ohio and washington dc

  • Colorado, great weather, friendly people, good schools

    http://www.townofcastlerock.org

  • Tennessee!!!!!!! Go Vols!!!!!!!!!!

  • New Hampshire- It has mountains, forests, and beaches. It is driving distance to Boston where you can enjoy city life and the best hospitals in the world, but far enough away so that most towns are rural and the school systems are excellent for kids. It has a low crime rate, no income or sales tax, and property is cheap compared to other Northeastern states.

  • Canada!!! Go Medicare!!! :D

  • orlando florida!

  • Any state in the upper midwest would be good for you. School systems are above average. There is adequate open space, parks, and recreation. Crime is not so bad. Climate is moderate and the spring is gorgeous. People are generally easy-going and tolerant. No matter where you live in California, the upper midwest will be a change.

  • Connecticut!
it is so beautiful here, with plenty to do!
the school systems are AMAZING! i really do recommend it
we are close to new york city, which is nice for shopping, lunch, or even a sporting game!

  • Wisconsin is nice; most of the people are not extremely liberal nor extremely conservative (most people are moderate.) Wisconsin is also the number 1 state for education, which would be great for your child. There_s also the Great Lakes right next door for a vacation, and we have the Wisconsin Dells; if you_re not familiar with it, its the largest group of water parks in the United States. We also have Badgercare; a health care program for those unable to afford it. And, let us not forget...the Pack! A good, honest, hardworking football team who ARE going to the Superbowl this year!

All in all, Wisconsin is a great state. Don_t let us choose where you live though; try to do some research on the Internet, in books, anywhere you can. Its an important decision, not something to be taken lightly.

    Good luck!

  • NY ...everyTHING happens here....
california...MAYBE 2nd...but nothing compares to NY! and everyone knows it...even people who live in other states...EVEN PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN OTHER COUNTRIES...bascially..THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!

    GOOOO GIANTSSSSSSSSS!

  • You have just got to try Arkansas. Great weather, great schools, great people and the Razorbacks

  • NY!
    it is where everything happens
    oh yeah!!
  • Where is the best place to elope in Las Vegas?|194975

My boyfriend and I are deciding to get married after 6 years of being together, but neither of us want the hoopla of a wedding. We are going to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, and are looking to quietly get married. I am looking for a nice, classy place that is not themed or cheesy in any way. We don_t want to spend more than $1,000 so the Bellagio is out. Maybe four or so people will be in attendance. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Click on Lakeside Gardens or Royal Terrace.

The weather will be lovely in November for an outdoor wedding.

My daughter got married at Lakeside Gardens last year. The wedding was beautiful. The package included flowers and photographer. Check it out. And my daughter_s pictures looked just like the ones on the website so it_s very accurately depicted.

I think the Lake Las Vegas gondola wedding would be awesome too. You said just 4 people right? Very intimate and the pictures will be beautiful. Great memories.

    Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

  • We got married in the Little chapel of the west its near mandalay bay and not cheesy at all, like you we wanted a ceremony with some class and this we feel was provided here. There are some pretty grotty chapels in Vegas so I would go somewhere that is recommended by someone who has been there rather than a book, a review or someone trying to be helpful because they know some on who got married at so an so.

    it here is a photo,

  • My husband and I just got married there on the 15th and we went to Belleza wedding chapel. they weren_t expensive at all, it was the cutest little place ever, they were very helpful and did not rush us through it. we have some GREAT pictures and a video. they also let you do custom music to walk down the aisle and you get your first dance at the end of the ceremony. we had 48 people and everyone loved it.

  • Go Downtown and purchase your license at the Marriage Bureau, then either have them marry you or go to the Little Chapel of the West. To keep the cost down do not use their flowers, or have them take pictures or record it. For rates check www.lasvegasnow.com

  • Well an early congratulations to you and your boyfriend! The link I posted in the source is a nice video on all the hot spots in Vegas. Hope it helps and congrats again!
  • Can you tell me the best driving route from Detroit to Florida?|117589

Please keep in mind that I_m pulling a trailer with my honda accord V6. I_ve been told that if I take I75 it takes you up and down the mountains whereas if you take the recommended Google directions, it will be an easier ride as you will travel through the mountains.

  • I_m not sure what your talking about. i check ed the google directions and they too said take I-75. I-75 can be a little hilly and there are a few BIG hills but it_s not that bad. I would think that pullling a trailer you would want to save on gas and this is most likely the shortest route. Well good luck!

  • I would take 75. Yes you go through the mountains but it actually isnt that bad. I think it is the best route. I drive there every year from michigan. The other route is going to take you longer and it isnt any better than 75. The worst part is actually going to be in atlanta with all the traffic. other than that its a breeze.

  • I agree with the other answer that I-75 is probably the best route. If you want to avoid the Kentucky and Tennessee sections, which are through the mountains. It_s about 50 miles longer. The hills are less.

    Detroit I-75 south to Cincinnati
    I-71 south to Louisville
    I-65 south to Nashville
    I-24 south to Chattanooga
    I-75 south to Atlanta

To completly miss the mountains: take I-65 from Louisville to Birmingham and then I-20 east to Atlanta.
  • What is the fastest way to DC from Philly?|130589

Im going to visit Philly for Thanksgiving.
leaving cali on the 20th and getting to philly the morning of the 21st
I_d like to make it to DC the night of the 21st or on the 22nd
to make it to the washington national opera
so what is the fastest way to get to DC from Philly?
    (besides driving)

    thanks in advance!

  • Amtrak, it takes an hour and 45 minutes and you arrive at Union Station in the heart of DC not far from the Kennedy Center. You depart from 30th Street Station in the center of Philadelphia. It_s pretty much hassle-less. Arrive at the station 20-30 minutes before your scheduled departure, print your tickets from one of the many kiosks (that don_t have lines of people at them like the airlines) and board your train (no security lines). Advance book on the internet, trains pretty much depart hourly so plenty of choices. It_s too bad all travel isn_t as easy.

  • Amtrak is nice but very expensive. If you want something cheaper try one of the many bus services. I won_t recommend Greyhound because they don_t have a lot options as far as times and days. Try either the mega bus or the Chinatown bus. Chinatown bus is probably your best bet. It_ll get you there just as fast as Amtrak and be a whole lot cheaper.

  • Take Amtrak from 30th St station into Union Station. It takes about 2 hours and they run frequently. The local trains with the lower fares only take about an extra 15 minutes. Making reservations in advance is a good idea and tickets are easy to pick up at the kiosks.

  • Probably a plane, but if you want to drive it only takes about 3 and a half hours, if you go south on route 95.

  • Interstate 95................. Southbound

  • Amtrac Acela Express will get you there in 1h 44m.

  • They are not very far apart. The Greyhound would be as fast as anything.
