Are there any cheap places in Vegas that I can rent, that will accommodate about 8 people?|136290

Me and my friends are planning a vacation to Las Vegas at the end of August. Right now there are at least 8 people going and we are thinking that it might be cheaper to rent a house or something for the 4-5 days we_ll be out there.

  • At the end of August room rates will be very low. Go to www.cheapovegas.com and click on the downtown places and you will find rooms at less then 30 bucks a night. It might be it is a better deal then the a house and closer to the action

  • My suggestion

A very nice hotel/casino that has over sized rooms is the Orleans. They also have adjoining rooms, so you could just leave the door open or closed between the two rooms when you chose.

_is have a great special for the Orleans between now and August 30th - Buy one night Sunday through Thursday get one night free, if you stay five nights you get two free.

The Orleans is one of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas.
    http://www.tripadvisor.com
_voted the Orleans the number 2 best value hotel in the _WORLD_ - For, great/friendly service this is one of the very best hotels I have stayed at(15-20 times _ usually for 9 - 10 nights) If you make a request for your room(s) they will do everything they can to accommodate you. Ask for a room on the 16th - 19th floors that face(East) the strip for the most awesome panoramic view of the strip.

    The Orleans
    Great Buffet

For very cheap meals they offer _graveyard_ specials in the courtyard cafe. From Midnight to 6am you can eat great.
    Biscuits _ Gravy - $1.95
    2 Eggs _ Bacon or Sausage - $2.45
    Pancakes _ Ham + 1 egg - $2.45
    Ham Steak _ Eggs + Hash Browns _ Toast - $3.45
    Steak _ Eggs + Hash Browns _ Toast - $3.45

Prime Rib Loft _one of the very best moderate price steakhouses in LV. Along with 8 or 9 other nice restaurants.

    Fast food
_Terrible Mike_s_ - Great burgers, etc
    Subway
    Seattle_s Best Coffee_I think that_s the name, I_m not a coffee drinker.
    _Kate_s Korner_ - Ice Cream
$1 _dogs_ - in the snack shop by the sports book

Free shuttle to both the strip and over to the Gold Coast/Rio/Palms hotel cluster

    Nice Pool - Spa

The Orleans not only has the best cocktail service in LV they also have the best looking girls in the hottest outfits.

    The _Alligator Bar_

    18 Screen Movie Theater

    Arcade

    Bowling Alley

Their own arena for shows, sporting events, etc

    Sports Book - Poker Room

Best place to purchase wine/beer/liquor in LV _Terribles Wine _ Liquor_ _I can_t buy it that cheap at home

Their _gift shop_ prices on chips, pop, etc is almost as cheap as a grocery store.

If you like to play(gamble), the Orleans, _Club Coast_ slot club is one of the very best for cash back and they are the very best at offering free rooms to _low rollers_ - So if you enjoy Las Vegas and would like to have free rooms next time and you were going to play anyway. the Orleans is as good as it gets.

They give each of you a free _funbook_ when you check in, it_s full of great coupons. To use for meals, free day at the spa, 2-4-1 show tickets, etc.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. The Orleans is one of our favorite hotel/casinos. We spend a week or two there every year, we were just there for 10 days last December(room 1640).

Next trip June 6th - July 5th(30 days)

  • How about one of the extended stay places. they are reasonable and have kitchens so you can save a few $$$$$$$ on eats during your visit.

  • You would be better off to rent an extended stay hotel room, like someone else suggested. Budget Suites or Embassy Suites would be a good place to start. However, they_re not on the strip. Polo Towers is right on the strip if you need to be.
  • How difficult would it be to get from Aspen to Denver?|134199

I_m going skiing in Aspen in a couple weeks and I want to go to the Avalanche game on the 22nd in Denver. Would this be an impossible feat?

  • One guy said 160 miles and just a few hours. It will take longer than that. First you have to rent the dogsled. Then truck it to the base of Independence Pass, which is closed in Winter.

200 miles is correct, going through Glenwood Springs. In good weather, and at a time of low traffic, you maybe could make it in 4 hours. If it_s snowing, or you_re trying to get back to Denver on Sunday, all bets are off.

Three options. You could drive out the day before, and drive back the day after. But if there_s a storm, you_re out of luck and have paid for tickets. And you_ve put a big dent in your time in Aspen.

    You could fly.

Or you could put the game at the beginning (best) or end of your trip. My second best recommendation.

My best is to forget it and enjoy Aspen.

  • Easy. Piece of cake. There is good highway from Aspen to Denver. IF the weather is good.

I checked with MapQuest, and they say Aspen to Denver is a little under 200 miles, and the average time you can expect is about 3 hours, 45 minutes. Of the 200 miles, you begin with about 40 miles on US 82 N, and then 145 of it is on Interstate 70 East. So we are talking major highways and freeways.

Add expected delays during commute hours.

    Good luck.

  • Not difficult !!!
Aspen and Denver are only a couple of hours or so apart by highway 70. Route 82 connects Aspen to Interstate 70. Hopefully they won_t have to close the route because of snow!!!

  • are you driving ............or walking?

  • Since that is in the middle of the week, traffic shouldn_t be too bad. It should take about 2.5 hours straight down I-70. Just hope they don_t have another blizzard or all bets are off. Sometimes Vail Pass is closed due to avalanches (real ones, not the hockey players.) Tonight they are having ground blizzards due to high winds even though it isn_t snowing.

  • It_s fairly easy to do and should take about 3 to 3 and a half hours. But be careful... there can be heavy traffic in and out of Aspen around 8 am and 5 pm so time it well. Same can be said of Denver.

If you can afford it, you can always remove your headaches by taking something like Colorado Mountain Express or some other shuttle service. Then you can chill out on the ride (which is long) and better yet sleep on the way back, depending on their schedule.

    Just a thought. Have fun.

  • No, just hope it_s not snowing that day and they close down some highways

  • Denver is about 160 miles from Aspen ..should take 3 or 3 1/2 hrs to get there .. should not be a problem to do this .. have fun!
  • What is the location of your favorite vaction spot?|118354

Is it the beach? Or is it something else?

I_m doing homework right now and I have to draw a place where I like to vacation. I don_t have any ideas right now. My teacher drew a beach but I can_t think of anything. Can you help?

  • I love two different spots in Florida. One is Kissammee, due to its proximity to EPCOT Center and the rest of Disney World, and then there is Saint Augustine, which has pretty beaches and lots of history, and quaint places to hang out and shop.

  • London is my favorite place- the most awesome city in the world! I_ll be going to Hawaii in Nov- to Waikiki beach and I_m expecting that to become a favorite spot!!!!

  • Well I_ve been going to the beaches of Northwest Florida (Emerald Coast,Panama City to Pensacola) since 1963.This is my favorite.
