How far from Austell to Atlanta and back?|167621

I_m not from Georgia. I_m planning an Atlanta trip with plans to stay in Austell. Online it looks really simple to go between the two locations. In person is it more complex?

How complicated is a ride from Austell to Atlanta?

What does Austell GA have to offer in the way of churches to visit, tourism, black history, craft shows, cultural events, etc.?

The city government website didn_t show what I needed. What does Austell have to offer travelers other than affordable hotel rooms?

  • Only thing in Austell is Six Flags but your only about 10 miles from downtown ATL. I lived in Austell for 2 years and it_s not that bad. Its also in 1 of the safest counties in the metro area. Cobb County doesn_t cut as much slack as some of the others. Its a good place to live but it doesn_t have much. On the other hand it_s pretty close to everything.

  • The only thing I know of in Austell is Six Flags, but it_s not far from Downtown and SW Atlanta (about 15 minutes on Rt 20, which intersects Rt 75/85, the main highway which goes through Atlanta). Downtown/SW Atlanta where you_ll find the MLK memorial and Turner Field. East Atlanta, a hip indie-ish neighborhood is also on Rt 20. The only thing you_ll want to do is try to avoid traveling during rush hour, because the roads you_ll be taking get very crowded.

  • Austell is a good place to go outside of Atlanta because of Six Flags. Two hotels that I know are decent are Spring hill Suites by Marriott for $109.00 a night and Wingate by Wyndham for $89.00 a night. Austell to Peachtree Street ( Downtown Atlanta) by 17.0 mi C about 35 mins. You can access a lot of the places from that street. Six Flags is the only good thing in Austell. Everything else is in Atlanta. Have a great time!

  • bout 20 minutes each way. im not really familiar with any cultural stuff in da area. word of faith is a church in austell. da pastor dere is dale c bronner. he_s apart of da bronner bros hair products. six flags is also in austell.

  • I think about 2 to 3 hours
