How does the weather in Minneapolis compare to Portland, Maine?|199387

My family is considering a move to Minneapolis but I_ve only been there briefly. I used to live in Portland, Maine and wondering if anyone if familiar with how the weather compares. Specifically, it seems Minneapolis has colder winters but maybe shorter?? Are the summers warmer and longer?

Comparing the two on accuweather.com, it does appear that Minneapolis does indeed have a colder but shorter winter.
Minneapolis gets colder in the winter and slightly warmer in the summer.
