How is the weather of Buffalo NY as compared to Boston?|168581

Hello I might move from Boston to Buffalo and would like to know How is the weather of Buffalo NY as compared to Boston. I am more concerned of cold weather then snow. Kindly advice. Thanks.

I dont know about Boston, but I do know Buffalo having lived here for 17 years. It is pretty harsh in the winter when it comes to snow especially in the southtowns. Areas like the Tonawandas, Grand Island, and Niagara Falls are generally less affected, but still experience snow. The lake-effect normally lands in the city and below. Summers are about 80 degrees in the city, and again, cooler heading North. Any area around the water will be about 10 degrees cooler. It starts to get cold around halloween and finally begins to snow by mid-december (we didnt have snow for this past christmas though). Any more specific questions, I would be happy to answer.
