What is the best place to live in Metro Atlanta?|111287

I would be moving there pretty soon, what is the best place to live in Atlanta, I like the area that has a great quality of life, good school, has lots of stores, have great shopping mall, nice neighborhood, and parks. I don_t mind the commute.

  • I don_t know what the first answerer is talking about...

First of all there is crime is any huge metropolitan city.

There are some great places to live in the metro area. Some places that you should check out is:

    Buckhead
    Alpharetta
    Lawrenceville
    Holly Springs

  • You say you don_t mind the commute, but you_d want to see the place at 8:45 on a weekday morning! I would suggest living in town. Grant Park has some lovely historic houses, but I didn_t go to school there. Its on the edge of the quirky hip district (East Atlanta), has a park with a zoo and lovely neighbors. I lived there for a while and loved it! The mall is a bit of a drive, but no more than like 20 min to Lennox.

Gas isn_t getting much cheaper and 10 hours a week is a lot to spend in the car!

    Good luck!

  • lol good luck on that one! there is no way that you can get away from crime. but it does seem to dumb down around here. But as it dumbs down so does my interest in living in the place because of lack of malls and stuff like that. lol but i guess any place in the metro is better than the real ATL.

  • Gwinnett County is good, if you go to the right spots. Lawrenceville and Suwanee are about the only nice spots left! But it_s about 30 minutes from the city, and it_s close enough that you don_t feel like your living in the boondocks.

  • I also agree with lucy b,you can also check out stock ridge, tucker, and forest park all seem pretty good to me

  • plan on spending at least 2-3 hours a day in the car if you want to commute.

    norcross is nice.

  • North Suburbs like anywhere from Chattanooga to Buckhead.

  • Douglas County is pretty good

  • Buckhead!
