How do I go from from Jersey City, NJ to the Meadowlands via public transportation?|128389

I do not want to go to NYC and take the Port Authority Bus as I am already in NJ. Can I take the Light Rail and transfer to a bus?

The light rail does go right to east rutherford/rutherford, but it is still two miles from the sports complex. There are buses that pick up here, but I don_t know because i never tried before.
