What are some things that I must see will in Disney world?|193137

I am going to Disney world from June 9th until the 16th, I am staying a port orleans resort riverside. I want to make sure I see many great things, but I have never been so I do not know what is worth time and what is not worth seeing. HELP!!! I want to have great memories and there is so much there to choose from. OH, I am 30 and I am taking my BFF and two girls 9 and 14.

  • At riverside they have the Old Man Island Feature Pool and every monring they chose one child to _wake up_ the pool. the chosen child gets a special hat (to keep) and stands by the water slide yelling _Wake up Old Man Island, Wake Up!_ then the water slide comes gushing to life. My daughter got to do it one morning and she still talks about it...so that is a fun thing to do if you aren_t heading into the theme parks every morning.

Do not miss the Magic Kingdom fireworks where a real live Tinkerbell _flies_ out of the top of the castle. Her guidewire goes to tomorrowland...find the guidewire and make sure you have a good view of it. We have always told our girls that if they see Tinkerbell that she will leave them a surprise in their hotel room that night...so that might work for the 9 year old to make it a little more magical...even if she knows it is you...it still add to the trip.

  • Disney World has many great rides/attractions
Here is a list of rides that you can go on at each of the 4 main theme parks at Disney World:

    Magic Kingdom:
    SPace Mountain
    Splash Mountain
    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Peter Pan_s Flight
    It_s a Small World
    The Haunted Mansion
    Astro Orbiter
    Indy Speedway
    Magic Carpets of Aladdin
    Buzz Lightyear_s Space Ranger Spin

    Epcot:
    Test Track
    Mission Space
    Soarin
    Finding Nemo
    Honey I Shrunk the Audience
    There is also world showcase

    Animal Kingdom:
    Safari
    Expedition Everest
    DINOSAUR
IT_s Tough to be a Bug
    Kali River Rapids

    Hollywood Studios:
    Tower of Terror
    Rock n Roller Coaster
    Lights Motor Actions Stunts
    High School Musical 2 Live
    Fantasmic

If you are choosing between only 1 or 2 parks here is a list of the best ones:

    1. Magic Kingdom (best selection of rides.attractions/food)
    2. Animal Kingdom (fun for two kids and you rides and animals)
    3. Epcot (for the older crowd, science based)
    4. Hollywood Studios (small only a couple good rides, good entertainment)

i recommend that you go to all four of the parks. also if you feel like getting wet you can go to one of the water parks. TYPHOON LAGOON OR BLIZZARD BEACH. THEY ARE A SEPERATE ADMISSION FEE FROM THE FOUR MAIN THEME PARKS.

  • I cannot say much about what to miss, I love it all. But, the must sees and dos are:
Fantasmic, Disney Studios Laser Show Starring Mickey Mouse and the Disney Villains. All the shows and rides.
Epcot_s laser show, Soaring California, Honey we Shrunk the Audience, Mission Space, and Test Track
Animal Kingdom and all of Magic Kingdom.

9 and 14 year old girls would love a few character meals check them out. You may want to prearrange meals to ensure you get them. Also check out the Polynesian Resorts Luau they will love it.

  • This page lists every ride at the 4 parks and notes whether they are skippable, favorites, or in between:

    Have a great time!

  • There are so many great things to see! I totally understand your worries of not seeing all the best stuff. Also, you are going during the busy summer season, which will make it even more difficult. I have been to Disney many times and I have to say that the trips where I got to see all of the best stuff were my last three. For those trips I used a customized itinerary and touring plans service called Custom Mouse Plans. They are great! They planned my itinerary so that I was in the least crowded park each day, my touring plans so that I never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride, and my days so that we did all of the best stuff! They even made my dining reservations! Worth every penny!
    Have a great trip!

  • Here are lists of must-see attractions in each park:

  • If you have never been before, I recommend reading up on it yourself along with recommendations by others. Try

Also, The Unofficial Guidebook to Disney World is only about $14 on Amazon.com and is a great resource. Even though I am local I own the 2008 version and read from it frequently.

My personal favorite ride is Peter Pan in the Magic Kingdom, followed by the Haunted Mansion. In Epcot, Soarin_ is awesome and Test Track is fun, too.

As far as food goes, my favorite sit down restaurant is Le Cellier in Canada_s pavillion in the World Showcase and _Ohana in the Polynesian resort.

    Have a great trip!

  • When you get into Disney World, you will be overwhelmed. It is a great thing to have so many days.

The lines are very very very very very very very long and most of the rides are worth it. Understand that you can_t ride all the rides in one day and can_t see everything in one day.

But I would take in Universal Studies one day... great fun ... more adult.. but the age of your kids they would like it too.

    have a wonderful trip.

  • I_d suggest going to all the parks! It_s a great thing to have so much time, although you still won_t be able to see it all! It_s all worth seeing though. Since lines are very very very long at that time of year, I_d suggest getting the fast passes, which are free. Go to www.disneyworld.com for more info on everything there. Don_t worry though, you_ll have great memories. Have fun!
