What is the best way to get to the University of Southern California from LAX airport?|140444

I am going to visit the University of Southern California (USC) in a few weeks. I_ll fly into LAX airport at night around 9-10pm. What is the best way to get to the school from the airport? What options do I have? And how much will they cost roughly? Thank you very much.

  • OK...You can actually go through some of the toughest neighborhoods in L.A. late at night with luggage on a convoluted bus and subway route, if you want or----stay safe and have a friend meet you...no friend who knows L.A.will let you take that trip...or you can take a more expensive cab or shuttle ride....

LAX to USC---_you can_t get there from here_

  • The SAFEST way is to take a taxi. You do NOT want to be an unaccompanied female w/ luggage traveling at night through some of the worst crime areas on the public transit system. You would be a prime target. You don_t want to become _news at 11:00_

PS: Your boyfriend is a total jerk, and a _mama_s_ boy. Dump him ASAP, and find a guy that will respect you, and please don_t start any of that whiny _but I love him_ crap. He_s using you and you know it. You_ll be better off with out him

  • I see others are putting down the transit system, but I think you would be fine taking that option. It all comes down to route choice. The following routing would surely work just fine. There is a direct Flyaway bus that picks up right in front of the airline terminals and runs non-stop to Downtown LA for only $3.50 and will drop you in a safe well lighted place, Union Station. From there an easy connection can be made to MTA line #446 (additional .75 cents night fare) which travels the short distance up to USC along Figueroa Street. There is another route #42 bus that can be a bit unsafe between the airport area and USC at night due to the areas it passes through but traveling via the Flyaway bus is quite safe.

  • that late at night I would look into Super Shuttle
yes there is a transit option (just two buses but I wounldt
advise unless you really want to save money it would
    $1.25
super shuttle should run more then $25.00
a taxi probably would cost more plus there a surcharge all
trips departing lax via Taxi of $2.50
now if you chose the transit option
first you board a LOT C bus take to the city bus terminal
then board a Line 42, which will take right past USC

  • Pay for a cab (or at least a shuttle); you don_t want to take the public lines/buses to USC at night (which you could do for cheaper). You_ll pay more for the cab/shuttle (20-40), but it_s the safer option.

  • Taxi. $50
