Where is the best place to watch a Meteor Shower around New York City?|121045

A few of my friends and I would like to watch the Leonid meteor shower in the AM hours between November 17th - 18th. Unfortunately, we live in New York City and are looking for a good location within 2 hrs outside the city that would give us a clear view.

Ideally, this location would be by a lake, river, etc.

Can anyone help please?

  • go way out on Long Island to one of the parks or beaches. it should be dark there!

  • GO TOWARDS UPSTATE LIKE THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS ITS BEAUTIFUL UP THERE THIS TIME OF YEAR MAYBE YOULL CATCH THE REST OF THE BEAUTIFUL LEAVES BEFORE THEY FALL.FAHNESTOCK NATIONAL PARK IS AMAZING.THEN YOULL SEE BEAUTY IN THE DAY AND NIGHT.

  • Go up to Bear Mtn. Should be plenty dark up there!
