How much money should i take on my trip with my family for a week in San Antonio?|197649

Keep in mind i need to book hotel, food, and do a little shopping and sightseeing while im down there. Trip for 7.

  • Realistically, there is no way for us to estimate your expenses, as we do not know your habits or your plans.

I live in the city, and have gone through $500 in a day just entertaining a family of four.

If you are driving, remember the San Antonio Metroplex is 7000 square miles. You can use a lot of gas going from one place to another.

I can feed my family of 4 out of $15-20, or we can easily spend over $200 on one meal. It depends on where you eat.

Some restaurants on the Riverwalk it is easy to spend $40 per person for a meal and not really be splurging.

If you find a budget motel where you can have some of the meals in your room you can save some money. But with 7 you will probably need 2 rooms.

Just to get into Fiesta Texas, if you buy the tickets online, and don_t pay the gate prices it will cost $240 just for tickets and parking for one day, and that doesn_t include food in the park.

Some of the sight seeing type venues, like the Alamo are free Admission, but many will have at least a token $5-7 admission per person.

Parking in the downtown area will cost at least $5 per hour.

Consider what your meals cost when you eat out at home. The prices off the Riverwalk are similar.

Hotels outside downtown are about the same as you will find nationally.

Gas prices for regular gas in San Antonio currently are $3.73 to $3.95 a gallon.

If you travel around the city by the Via metro bus system you can usually save some money, but it its not always as convienent.

Shopping prices are about the national average in San Antonio.

I can_t tell you what to budget, because I don_t know your habits.

I do know that my family often spends around $2000 a week when we are on trips for expenses not covered by hotels and planned meals.

  • You dont say how much youre willing to splurge but lets say youre on a budget
I would caculate it this way for a family of 7
$200 per night for two Motel/Budget Hotel rooms
$100 for food eating one meal a day and buying snacks at a supermarket
from $100-300 per day of sightseeing it truly depends on you as you might want to spend the day at the beach which is free or go to some amusement parks which can range between 25-50 per person
about 100 total for souvenir shopping
if you need a rental car add another 300 per week depending how much you move around.
I would suggest you are more specific on your wants and needs.
anyhow wish you a great trip!!!

  • well you should bring about 700 dollars 100 for everyone
