Im about to move there. My family and I would like to spend the summer together having fun. Do have any ideas?

Hiking- The Appalachian Trail is nearby.
Swimming, Boating- Smith Mountain Lake is close.
Scenic Drives- The Blue Ridge Parkway runs near Roanoke.
Socialize- There is some sort of Festival nearly every weekend. (Music, Arts/Crafts, Historical, etc.)
