Washington is a city in a federal district called the District of Columbia.

Washington is a State that borders British Columbia.

    That_s it.

    Word.

  • Washington State is a state.

Washington D.C. is not a state, it_s the district of columbia. Probably named Washington D.C. because Washington was our first president and D.C. is the home of the president.

  • Washington is a state
and Washington DC is actually a district DC stands for District of Columbia. So its is different and they are in different locations.

  • Washington is the state and Washington DC is the capital of the US

  • why not? it was not originally called washington dc. they changed it. washington is a state and dc is the district of columbia which is its own area.

Washington is a State or the Person George Washington

  • Washington State is on the west coast, and Washington D.C. is on the east coast.
