How good is the relationship between Hispanics and Whites in Colorado?|102522

Is there racism between each other?

  • I would say we live in peace. Colorado is a great state, and most respect each other. There are incidents of course, but I don_t think it_s always racially motivated.

  • Some. It really depends on the situation...there are gangs. Obviously, there is tension in those situations.

How poor people are has some influence, too. And how long a person has been here. For instance, there are large numbers of Mexican (and Central American) illegal immigrants. They catch some flak. There are many Hispanic people whose ancestors have been living in the state since before there were _Americans_ in the US, at all, so, one must give them some respect for the enterprising nature of their ancestors.

    And there_s everything in between.

If people are open, then there_s less racism.

    There_s so many factors.

  • Yes there is. It seems to be better in the liberal urban/suburban areas (Denver/Boulder/North Suburbs) than in the more rural conservative places.

  • Probaly like in any other state

  • not really...i would say that in general whites and mexicans are cool

  • Good, but our biggest gripe is the free ride the illegals are getting, health care and etc.
