What are some fun things to do within a 50 mile radius of Greensboro, NC?|105668

I am spending next weekend in Greensboro, NC. What are some fun things to do within 50 miles driving distance? We are 50ish and like outdoor stuff as well as museums and good eating. Any Greensboro locals have some suggestions?

Welcome!! Two parks that are close are Hanging Rock State Park _ Pilot Mountain State Park. They have some great hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. There are several small parks in the city, if you want them for walking - the Bicentennial Park _ Bog Garden, Country Park, the Arboretum, to name a few. There are tons of places to eat. On the more upscale, there is the Green Valley Grill, the Chop House Grill, Lucky 32, _ one of my favorites, the Village Tavern. In the lower price range, we love Pie Works (pizza) which has a wide range of pizzas. For Mexican, I would recommend Wholly Guacamole, for Italian, Villa Rosa (their marinara is amazing). I included the listing for our visitor_s bureau. I haven_t been to a museum in town other than the children_s museum. If you get a chance, take in a show at the theater(not movies).
