What happens if I lie about the number of occupants in a hotel room to save money?|169707

I_m taking a trip with 3 other people for Spring Break, but we save like $50 total if we lie and say that only 2 people will be in the room for the night. Can the hotel do anything? And how would they know if you do have more than what you said?

  • If all three of you show up to the front desk and want to check in together (three keys) then they will know. Y_all are going to be sharing a bed, probably, if you don_t mention that. If you are booking online, the reason there is a difference is probably because three people means 2 beds or 2 beds and a fold out couch to the computer, but 2 people means 1 big bed. Try calling the hotel instead and asking them for one hotel room with two separate beds (or whatever you want). Don_t tell them how many people. If they ask, say two, and be ready to share keys and a bed.

  • Uhmmmmm....... that is theft and you could be arrested and given a free room for the night. Whomever signs would be the ringleader. You do know all hotels have security cameras in the lots, lobbies and hallways now, right? Don_t do it, just stay at a motel 6 or something cheap, or better yet, if you cannot afford to rent a decent room and pay for all of you, stay home?

  • You will be thrown out and still charged for three. Remember they have your credit card on file. The staff will alert management
