What are good places to live in or near downtown baltimore?|169226

I am looking to move into a roommate situation. I was wondering which areas have a lot of stores and other employment opportunities within walking distance as i don_t drive. Thanks

  • You should probably start looking in the _midtown_ area (Mount Vernon, Bolton Hill, Station North, Charles Village)

The Fells Point area and Hampden are also options

If you don_t drive, you probably don_t want to be out in Owings Mills, as it_s really suburban

  • I grew up in Owings Mills until I was 8 Years Old. We thankfully got out and moved to the Hunt Valley/ Cockeysville Area after that.

Owings Mills was fine, but the people there were not friendly. My neighborhood hated my family because my parents chose to send my sister and I to Private Schools further away.

We then moved to Hunt Valley near my school (St. Paul_s School if you ever have kids, it_s a really good school.)

Everybody was nice their and seemed to be very friendly and welcoming. It is close to Wegman_s the new, massive, inexpensive, amazing super market. Wegman_s is right next to the new Hunt Valley Shopping Center which is amazing at just about every level. It has fine dining, shopping, as well as some good, quick restaurants (Noodles and Co., Chipotle, Etc).

But, just like every other city, public transportation is lacking. You could take the Metro Everyday, but you need something to get to the station.

This is why the city would be a good idea. You can walk to a lot of places if you know how to stay out of the bad ones. Area_s I would recommend would be Mount Vernon or Canton (Michael Phelps just bought a place their), or somewhere along Falls Road near Princeton Sports/ Mt. Washington.

    Good Luck

  • towson, lutherville , timonium, cockeysville , all are great places to live, dulaney high school is the best public school in baltimore county, and there are plenty of job opertunitys

  • Move to Downtown Townson! It is not as Violent as Baltimore City, but Baltimore County is great. Towson has GREAT schools, GREAT jobs, LOTS of places to shop, It_s like perfect downtown!
