Looking for a safe part of Moreno Valley to buy a house?|108089

We_ve been looking for houses in Moreno Valley, but they seem like such bad areas compared to where we live now. Most of the houses look beautiful, but the people look dirty and disruptive, and I checked the crime rate on most of the addresses and they weren_t that great, although it wasn_t absolutely horrible. Can someone please tell me some safe parts of Moreno Valley, or how I can know when the realtor takes us to a home if it_s a good neighborhood or not?

I used to work as a paramedic in moreno valley a couple years ago before I moved to Texas. I responded to all kinds of calls throughout the city. Moreno Valley has nice parts and bad parts. Its pretty much split. The thing about moreno valley is that there are a lot of thuggish people in that city that are straight from the hood of compton and south central LA that were forced out in the 90s when the government came in and bought their houses out to build the 105 freeway that goes through the middle of south Central LA. The thug people live in really nice houses that they are barely able to afford. I lived down south and up north. Up north (off of 60 freeway and Day Street) the neighborhood is decent but had drug dealing neighbors so go figure. Down south (Laselle and Iris) it is a lot nicer. the west side and central isnt all that great. It is not as nice as rancho cucamonga or murrieta/temecula but not as bad as san bernardino. Moreno Valley definitely has its fair share of crime though so just make sure you research the house or apartment before you go there. If you want more help email me

It_s really not hard at all to tell if you have a safe neighborhood or not. Things to watch out for:

Tennis shoes on the telephone wires (drugs sold here).
Bars on the windows
Yards overgrown (foreclosed home/absent tenant)
Lots of foreclosed homes in the area
Graffiti
Old junky cars parked on the street
One really nice car amongst old junky cars in the street.

Look in other areas! The I.E. has good areas Like Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside has nice parts. I have not heard good things about Moreno Valley. But there_s areas near it that may be better than Moreno. You should maybe consider that!!
