What is it like to live in a homeless shelter and working at the shelter?|117613

I need to know because I_m going on a Mission Trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota the Monday after the one coming up with my Christian School from Mt.Lake MN and wouldn_t be back _till that Friday.

  • Good luck to you. I hope you help a lot of people. Can_t believe there isn_t a homeless shelter near where you live though.

  • It happens all the time. My sister and mother had to live in a woman_s boarding home after being attacked by some guy. The women there work around the house.

  • What? Kids aren_t seriously going to be working in a shelter are you? Am not sure if that is a good idea considering you guys aren_t homeless. Shelters are not fun it_s sad and can be dangerous really it_s nothing to be taken lightly. Most are safe houses what the Hell are a bunch of teens going to do?

  • Homeless shelters are a little dangerous as most of the poeple in there are homless for a reason. (drug abuse, mental disorder, etc.) But not all its best not to judge, but dont completely let your guard down either.

Most homeless people just want to be treated equally and fairly. They also love to have people to talk. It helps relieve their stress, and if anyone needs it its them.

The most important thing is to never ever give an american homeless person money! every homeless person who ive worked with says that the money given to the just helped fuel their problem (drug abuse...) Give them a lending ear and good advice. Help them in other means.

    Good luck

  • omg its disgusting. all of the people there act as if they_re poor or something.

many times they dont even shower!

I dont know what kind of racket theyre pulling but they need to get their parents to give them some lunch money.
