What is the differance between valley and desert?|117904

I just moved to the desert. You see the awesome mountains and desert land here. Then you have valleys. But, why are some places valley? I have to drive to valley sometimes and dont see the differances other then close to mountain. Are they differant or lower?Any help understanding appreciated. Thanks..

  • Valley is a long depression in the surface of the land that usually contains a river.

Desert is a landscape form or region that receives very little precipitation. And is characterized by having lots of sand and little vegitation.

A valley can be part of a desert sometimes.
