How and what is needed to obtain a food street vendor license in Boston, MA?

The items I plan to sell are foods. I would like to do it as my own business so I understand this is more work and would cost more. I was wondering the prices for the permit and the _location rental_ If you could please help me with any information or direct me to specific links that would be great. I am looking at the state site but its difficult to navigate!
Thanks!

  • I_d start by downloading the Boston Small Business Resource Guide click ?
    http://www.cityofboston.gov/dnd/OBD/pdfs
    ?
It_s a PDF document, so you_ll need Adobe Reader to view it. If you need Adobe Reader (it_s free) go to
    http://www.adobe.com
and follow the instructions. The City of Boston site is
    http://www.cityofboston.gov

Good luck in your new business!

  • Boston does not allow mobile food vendors, but that shouldn deter you from from seeking your own piece of the street-food pie. Prior to applying for a license from the Public Works Department, wannabe vendors must get _health license_ from Inspectional Services Department. If your food is hot, get a fire permit from the Boston Fire Department.
