Where is a nice quiet place in Texas to go for a romantic weekend getaway?|189989

My birthday is coming up and rather than celebrate with a big party, I just want to get out of the city. We live in Dallas and are on a bit of a budget, so flying somewhere is out of the question and so is an expensive hotel. We are looking to spend around $100 to $125 per night and don_t like the bed and breakfast type places.

  • Go to Fredricksburg, Texas or the Hill Country. Gruene Hall is WONDERFUL if you like country music and Texas culture (it is by New Braunfels). You could always go to Waco (I used to live there and go to the museums like the Dr. Pepper museum, Ranger museum, Mayborn Museum). There_s always a lot of country music going on in Waco. It is still a city but not as big as Dallas. You could always go to this little Czech community of West (I think you can find B _ B_s there Waco is a short drive south on 35). There_s a few shops in West and there are other towns around there as well. While in West Czech out the kolaches and meat market. You can always go on little country roads and take a trip to Waco for George_s bar (If you like Pat Green you will love George_s bar).

  • I would head over to Muleshoe just Southwest of Lubbock and visit the feed lot.

  • well, that is a good planning.

  • DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    go TEXAS GOOOOOOO!!!

  • new braunsfel area outside austin. or san antonio riverwalk area. probably should stay away from beach areas due to spring break.

  • South Padre if it_s not Spring Break.
