What neighborhood are safe and good neighborhoods in Orlando Florida?|108455

I am considering moving to Orlando Florida. What neighborhoods are safe and nice and which ones should I stay away from.

  • Orlando is a big area and what people consider Orlando is even bigger. There_s a lot of great places around Orlando to live. Windermere, Winter Garden and Clermont are good. Winter Park is nice as well but very costly. There are 2 places called Stoneybrook- on is Stoneybrook East and the other is Stoneybrook West. Both are good areas.

Avoid Parramore and Pine Hills at all costs.

East Orlando is ok but UCF is there and you will find it_s a lot of young college kids around. West Orlando is more family oriented.

That Forbes list that someone referred to was from data collected in 2008. Orlando is no longer considered the 6th most dangerous city.

  • The good schools are in seminole county (Orlando is orange county), seminole is a mostly bedroom community county just north of Orlando...I live in Tuskawilla country club in Winter Springs/Oviedo...due to the great demographics (mostly white middle/upper middle class), all the schools around us are A rated schools and we have basically no crime. It_s a fantastic place to raise a family. I work in Orlando and it only takes me 20 mins to get to work...bottom line seminole county has several really nice towns, winter springs and oviedo are two of them...good luck.

  • Orlando is currently rated #6 in Forbles list of most dangerous cities based on violent crime as of 2009. (new results should be around April)
Florida and Orlando unemployment are above the national average.

  • Stay away from Pine Hills.
