What kind of shops and restaurants are there in Grand Central Station?|157001

Would it be fun to spend some time there, to shop and to have lunch ?
It is such a great architectural space. What do you think?
Thank you in advance for your answer !

  • The oyster bar is the most romantic/groovy place on the planet for cocktails, or, obviously, oysters. Even if oysters not your thing, it_s a fantastic place to go. There is a cheesecake outlet called Juniors - do not leave without sampling - heaven on earth!! There are plenty of other outlets, from fast food to upmarket, so I_d say defininitely worth a lunch visit.

  • At the upper levels overlooking the main terminal you have quality restaurants. On the main levels, to the sides of the main terminal you have a couple of small shops (record store, Starbucks, banks, newspaper/magazine stores...a Rite Aid near the shuttle, Junior_s cheesecakes, the NYC Transit Authority museum, Zaro_s, Owens). On the lower level (tracks 100-116) you will find the Oyster Bar as well as some eateries (fast-food but with a New York twist such as Brother Jimmy_s (barbecue food), and many others (Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc.) No McDonalds or Burger Kings here :)

The ceiling in the main terminal.....AMAZING!

  • yess real fun with friends juniors has great food and cheesecake yummy! and there are a few little book stores and card stores and stuff plus across the street you can go to the whitney museum

  • The stores are mostly like gift shops, like small shops. They mostly have restaurants and accessory and stationary shops like Tumi and also a lot of soveniers of subways.

  • there is a SURPRISE SURPRISE a starbucks or 2 ;-)

  • It_s got some good shops on the main level, and there is a Micheal Jordan_s Steakhouse. The shops and the resteraunts are a little pricey, even for NY!
