Where is a vetrans hospital in hawaii at and is it a good hospital?|165446

My husband is a vetran and rated at 100 percent. We loved the hospital in San Diego, they were really thourough, but here in Ok they suck big time. We are looking at hawaii for a possible future move in a year or so after our baby is born and want to look into a veterans hospital and what not.

  • Tripler AMC is the military hospital for Hawaii. I delivered our son there and it was wonderful. Never had any problems what so ever. My husband also saw some specialists there and they were top ones too. Tripler will also covers patients that need special care from the rest of the Pacific like Guam, Japan, Australia, etc..

Now I do know of some people who didn_t have the greatest of treatment there but that is just like any other hospital out there. We as a family found that they were as good as San Diego if in not some ways better. It really depends on what you are needing and what you expect to how you will feel about the hospital.

  • The Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home opened in 2007 in Hilo and is the only long-term care home in the state for U.S. military veterans. It has 95 beds and is fully operational. I believe there are certain requirements, however, including a one-year residency in Hawaii. It_s not a hospital, but a care home.

  • It_s Tripler, but they do not have a good reputation.

  • There_s KVMH (Kauai Veteran_s Memorial Hospital) on Kauai, and they_re the best hospital on the island. The only problem with it is it_s on the other side of the island, in Kekaha, which is about 30 min. from Lihue and 45-60 from Wailua and Kapaa. If you were looking to move to Kauai, you may want to check out houses on the South side (Kalaheo is nice, Poipu, Moloa_a) or the West side (Kekaha, Waimea, Ele_ele) to be a little closer.

  • There is plenty of Hospitals in Oahu, Hawaii if this is the island you are moving to.

Trust me you will love the hospitals here. It might be boring but most hospitals are like that.
