Could someone suggest a bike rental place amp; a scenic bike trail in ny?|153792

I will be visiting nyc soon and am planning to do this with my friend on a saturday morning. Are rental places close to scenic bike trails? Sorry am lost. Help appreciated!

I saw your three posts and you really are trying to fill that Saturday Morning time slot. I admire that.

Call that free Kayak place and try to determine the chances of you getting out on the Hudson. Anything free in NYC will be crowded.

If the Kayak appears not likely I suggest going to the boathouse in Central Park. Renting a row boat is OK, but right next to the rowboats is the Bicycle rental.

Rent a bike and enjoy the Jewel of Manhattan. Do spend sometime before hand with a map of the Park and determine where you wish to ride. Just a couple of things not on any maps.

If the weather is nice there will be street shows and musicians at Bethesda Fountain, also just a bit west of the Band Shell (right across the road from Bethesda) watch the roller skaters put on a show.

When you want a bite to eat, return to the Boathouse. Grab a burger or get a nice sandwich there. This is the best food in the park (cheap also). The owner of the fancy restaurant there agreed with the city to open the section with really good fast food and he has done a very good job.
