How to get to Monterey Bay from Palo Alto using public transportation?|146029

Hey guys,

My boyfriend and I decide to go to Monterey Bay this weekend to see the aquarium and everything and we don_t own a car yet. Does someone know how to get to Monterey Bay using public transportation from Palo Alto/Stanford, like buses or Caltrains? Thank you!

VTA bus#22 or Caltrain to San Jose $2 ( 30 min)
From San Jose caltrain station, take expressbus #55 to monterey $4( 90min)

Don_t think there are trains, but you can bus it. You will probably have to transfer in San Jose, go over Hwy 17, transfer in Santa Cruz, and then you are on your way. Check the bus shedules for alternate routes and have fun, but be prepared to spend a lot of money in Monterey. I suggest spending time in Santa Cruz instead.
