Moving to north carolina from NY whats the best are to live with least amount of crime and good jobs?|100980

My girl and I are in our mid 20_s and we live in upstate New York and we hate it. We are looking to move to North Carolina by may 2010, but don_t know which part? If anyone one can help we are looking around the charlotte or raleigh areas maybe the suburbs to rent first then buy we are looking for good jobs and a great night life and low cost of living, can anyone help?

My girl and I are in our early 30_s, We are trying to do the same. We want to move from New Hampshire to Charlotte, NC. Plenty of business/tech/bank jobs in area. Stay north and west of city for nice nieghborhoods. They are trying to rebuild the south end, but it still looks bad, many gangs in area south and west of city. Do rent first! Then drive around and pick a home.
