How would you spend One night in New York City?|194350

A friend and I are landing at jfk 5 in the afternoon on saturday, and leaving at 8 am the following morning and want to make the most of our night in nyc. Any suggestions as far as things to do, see, stay?

  • By the time you clear security and get into Manhattan it will probably be around 7ish...i would grab a few slices of NYC pizza from any one of the most famous pizzerias. See this link

Then I would take a quick free ferry ride of the Staten Island ferry so I could see the statue of liberty at night and the skyscrapers at night. See link

Then go to Times Square and check out the _lights_

Of course I would get hungry after all this fun and would want to eat some late night food.. i would recommend you eat a falafel..and one of the best in NYC is Mamoun_s -- 119 MacDougal St New York, NY 10012 212-674-8685

Whatever you do just enjoy and take pictures!!

  • Well, they call it the city that never sleeps. Most businesses stay open all night, especially on the weekends. Not necessarily stores like Best Buy or Foot Locker, but the type of __yuppie__ stores that are there. It_s like being in a mall that never closes. You could really do anything. It won_t be fun if you_re not willing to spend though. You_ll have to be early. If you have an 8 AM flight, you_re supposed to get to the airport around 6 AM, I presume. Next week, I_m staying at a Travel Lodge on W42nd. It_s about $125 a night. You could probably find a hotel, like this around. You should probably stay in the hotel near or in the airport though, so you_re not late in the morning. The subways are very accomodating, at all hours. If I were you, especially if I had a long flight, I_d want at least 6-7 hours sleep, at minimum, plus at least an hour to take a shower and all. To just take a train or a cab to Manhattan, assuming your plane doesn_t run late, it_ll probably be like 5:30-6:00. You_ll probably have to head back to your hotel by at least 10, so you should have about 4 hours to have some fun. Manhattan_s one of the few places you could go around and always have something to do. You could just walk around and do nothing and it_ll feel like you_re doing something. Especially if you_re down in the Greenwich Village or any __hipster__ area on the Lower East Side.

  • try going to Max Brenner. that_s a totally different experience. Or go to Vice Versa, the restaurant and then take a trip to the theater district (which is less than 2 blocks away from the restaurant) and see if any shows have tickets left over. go see something good. i recommend wicked or chicago.

  • Get a suite at the W Union Square, have cocktails and the Pegu Club at Houston _ Wooster, dinner at the Strip House and stop by for some live dive bar blues and Mondo Canae or the Back Fence on/off Bleeker Street. Have fun......

  • Having sex overlooking the skylights from one of the bridges right after drinking a good bottle of wine!!!!

let me know how it is!

  • shopping

  • I would eat sooooooooooooooo much pizza
