What kind of lines are there for general ticket holders visiting Disneys El Capitan Theater in Hollywood?|120623

We_re thinking about visiting El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, and don_t want to spend the extra money for VIP tickets. The web site recommends arriving at least an hour before show time to get seats. Is that really necessary? How bad is the crowd? There would be 8 of us, but all teenage or older, so we don_t need all the seats in the same row.

  • If they say recommend an hour, they are probably right. you have to take into consideration, Traffic, Parking, getting your seats and all those other things that _Always_ seem to go wrong when you want to do something at a specific time.

  • The past two shows I_ve been to, that 1 hour is just about right. The last show (Hannah Montana), we have VIP tix, and got there just as the box office was opening. There was already a considerable line (This is Friday morning before 10 AM, just so you know).

So yeah, an hour is about right. Maybe more on Saturday and Sunday.

  • We saw a show there a couple of months ago on a Sat afternoon. The movie had been out for a couple of months at that point. There was plenty of seating for us just to walk up and get the tickets. The theater may have been 1/3 full.

If you are planning on going to see a new release, than you need to get there earlier.
