Where should my family go for Christmas?|198855

My family (hubby, daughter, mom, dad and I) decided that this year for Christmas we want to get out of town and enjoy ourselves instead of spending all sorts of money on each other. We want to go somewhere warm, with a beach, that isn_t too crowded and isn_t $1500 a person. Any ideas?

  • Go to Florida!!! you can take the cruise to Bahama from there.
    It_s an wonderful trip!

  • disneyworld=overrated and expensive. try siesta key or sanibel island. They have beautiful beaches.

  • Sydney, Australia.

Why should those Ozzies get away with it?

  • hawii

    or FL
but it gets kinda.. cold there:/
    not in hawii
and if you order the tickets online and like now..
    there WAAAYYY cheep

  • Try the beaches in central Florida: Daytona, Flagler, Cocoa, Ormond, New Smyrna. It_s the off season in that part of Florida, and although Florida can get cold in the winter, it_s typically much warmer than any northern state.

  • Disney world, we did it and had a ball.

  • Try a resort in Mexico. They can be very beautiful and relaxing.

  • for christmas last year my family and i went on a carnival cruse! we had a blast, and it costs around 300 dollars a person. there are beaches included! have fun with what ever you guys choose to do!

  • Well I_d say go to northern europe (except there are no beaches there) because they lean more towards winter solstice instead of this corporate influenced christmas. Out there, it is a time to spend with their family and close friends and feast and enjoy the gift of eachother. Here it_s more about getting stressed out and panicking around shopping malls and post offices and going into debt for the next 9 months just because you have been told it is right. I_d suggest Norway or Eastern Germany, etc...

  • Rent a BEACH HOUSE on the Outer Banks of North Carolina...it_s off-season and you should be able to get a wonderul home with ocean views for about $1500 a week. Some come decorated for the seasons. It_s a wonderful place to be for the holidays and the weather is usually balmy...with some local fantastic restaurants open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (_The Jolly Roger_ in Kill Devil Hills).

  • Well, I live in FL -- it_s not always warm here in the winter time, but usually is pretty nice. I_ve been to the beach half a dozen times since the new year started and we haven_t really had more than a couple days of real _cold_ weather.

Generally I can go around town in a t-shirt and boardshorts or jeans... at night, if it_s chilly, a sweatshirt is plenty.

The beaches if FL are less crowded during the winter and if you know the right spots, they_re completely abandoned. The water_s gonna be chilly, but not as chilly as anywhere else.

I like FL because a) I live here and b) it_s in the continental U.S. You can drive here and pay normal prices for groceries, etc. If you_re looking for somewhere more exotic, I_d head to Costa Rica.

I_ve been there several times and it really is a paradise. Of course, it_s not the U.S. so you have to be careful, but it_s definitely more pleasant and safe than you_d expect. During the winter time, it_s going to be more expensive to fly _ stay (since it_s holiday season) but you should still be able to fly round-trip for under $500 / person, and once you_re there it shouldn_t cost more than $60 or $75 per person, per day for room, transportation, food, and activities.

  • I prefer Walt Disney World, where a family of four can go for $1600 total for a week. The beach is just 45 minutes away.

    What should I do?

  • if you want to leave the country, you probably won_t find anything under $1000.....try Key West in florida, or Destin.

  • Nigeria

  • disney club in vero beach florida

  • Finland. You might meet the real Sta Claus.
