Is it legal to play music in certain parks in philadelphia?|197225

My band and I want to play some covers in one of the parks in Philadelphia (since its the closest city) to earn money for a charity in our school and we were wondering if its legal to do this...maybe in certain parks?

  • It depends on the park. Your best bet would be to contact each specific park.

I know that Fairmount Park doesn_t allow any amplified music (whether it is a band or just a sound system for a picnic).

On top of that, it is very possible that you would need a permit. Philadelphia is a stickler for permits. They even require solo musicians who play around the subway stations to have permits.
