Can someone get married the same day when arriving in Gatlinburg, Tennessee?|116937

My fiance and I are planning to get married in Gatlinburg,TN and I was wondering if there are chapels that take walk-ins or may arrange same day services? We are not planning a fancy service, just the typical I do_s.

  • There are no waiting periods or blood tests. You can get married the same day as your license is issued and you may obtain your license up to 30 days prior to your wedding, however the license is only valid for 30 days. Both parties must be present to obtain a license.

  • yes they can. as long as they_re at a legal age, sure why not.

  • you need 2 check with state laws there

  • As far as i know yes, and alot of the chapels in gatlinburg also have honeymoon packages in some of the cabins...

  • If your looking for a simple traditional wedding and nothing too fancy, than u choose an excellent location. Their are plenty of chapels and etc., for y_all to choose from. Which ever fits to what your looking/wanting out of the wedding service. They have places from the chapels, in town, or even up in the mountains, close to the cabins. Gatlinburg has alot to offer and explore, so enjoy your wedding, honeymoon, and trip. Congratulations!!!

  • i live here in sevierville ...all you have to have is your license which is easily obtained and presto you can be married in no time flat ..i think one of them even has a drive through ..lol..make sure you are really ready for marriage and good luck...

  • sure you can do it. just find the right place. try the phone book and look up wedding chapels or something like that.

  • Gatlinburg is in Sevier County, Tennessee.

Marriage Licenses are easy to obtain in Tennessee. Simply appear in person at any County Clerk_s office, or one of the Marriage License Centers in Sevier County. Both parties must be present in person. Proof of age is required by a valid driver_s license or, another state-issued I.D., a valid passport, or certified birth certificate. You do not have to be a resident of Sevier County to get married here.

Couples may also bring a marriage license from any county in the state of Tennessee. Remember, licenses are only valid within thirty days from issuance. If applicants are under age 18, both parents or legal guardians must sign the marriage certificate.

No appointment is required at the Sevier County License Centers. Cost is $45.00 for out-of-state residents, which must be presented only in cash in the exact amount.

PLEASE NOTE: Recent Legislation has made Tennessee Residents subject to an additional fee for a marriage license if they have not had certified marriage counseling. Check with your County Clerk_s office concerning this matter.

You may get married as soon as you have a license to do so in hand.

  • yup and please pick me as an best answer i have never been one :_(

  • Yes! Several Chapels I_m sure that you can just walk in but you might want to call ahead to check on Marrage Licensing and tidy the detailes! Best Wishes

  • yes,my best wishes

  • Yep.

  • You can go anywhere and get married that day as long as there is a Justice of the Peace or other certified individual who is available to do it. However, you will have had to already gotten a marriage license for that state (which generally entails blood tests and paperwork.)

  • call their local licensing office _ they_ll tell you what you have to do

a marriage license doesn_t require much, other than signing your names, and showing your drivers license

    then you_re good to go

blood tests aren_t done anymore (not anywhere I_ve ever been)

  • YUP - Just knock out your two front teeth and cross your eyes and you are in!!!
Actually they say that Gatlinburg has more wedding chapels than vegas now.

  • they have some--my dad got married like that...but i couldn_t tell you their names
